My new to me 08 K9 EHC

I started this new post as not to high jack someone else's . Just to repeat I just bought this K9 and the owner told me he had the EHC replaced not because the original was bad but because his mechanic suggested he put a newer unit in so he would not have any future problems.

So being me I have to find out if its true because I did see a receipt saying an EHC was replaced. So to you guys in the know does this look like a newer EHC ? Thanks I am still learning about the Electrical stuff on these bikes.

That would be the "Axel's" EHC replacement. It uses all the stock harness and just plugs in where the old EHC was. So in short answer - yes your EHC was replaced with a newer unit.

Yep, that seems to be Axels option. That is a good one, though I suppose all the new options are.

Thanks guys. I thought the guy told me they replaced it with one of Big Dogs but I do have a hearing problem. I was looking on their site and Curtis is even listed as selling these.

Well I sure am glad I looked into this because if you look close at the pictures you can see the unit is not sitting straight. So I push on it and it moves back and forth because the back nut is not tight. Must have worked it way loose since it was installed.

Remove the bolts clean the threads or replace with new hardware and use a dab of blue loctite.

I think Curtis recommends NOT using a lock washer. Or metal washer? I read it on here somewhere. May want to check this out.
