Well I finally went and got this today. Was able to get down there before another guy that was supposed to come look at it and had cash in hand. We did the deal, he rode it home for me and I gave him a ride back to work and then spent a little time down there cleaning on it.

It's an 02 Pitbull with about 5400 miles. The rear Avon tire is good but the front is just a crappy Shinko tire, so that'll be changed eventually. It needs fork seals and the cables on the brake lever feel a little loose as they move some when I apply the brake handle. I'll have to figure that out and see if I can tighten them up. I kept reading the clutch lever was hell on these bikes. It doesn't feel TOO bad, but I can imagine if I was stuck in stop and go traffic it'd be a nightmare. Is there any way to loosen that up and make it a bit smoother or is it just the nature of the beast? I've only ever sat on sport bikes, never a cruiser. I am definitely going to have to get used to the foot controls being so far forward when I get to riding this thing around lol

Awesome to see you picked this one up! I got my '03 Pitbull a couple weeks ago, they're excellent bikes.

As far as the clutch goes, they are fairly stiff indeed. My Harley has a Barnett Scorpion clutch to handle the extra power it has, which is a good bit stiffer than the Big Dog clutch (I believe they use a Rivera). What helped me out on that one is switching out to Kuryakyn 'Trigger' levers, they offer more leverage and help you pull the clutch in easier. Since the early Big Dogs use Harley hand controls, these should fit yours and offer a cost-effective solution. Companies like PSR also offer adjustable levers, but they're very expensive ($220-250/set). I have no personal experience with these so I can't really say how well they actually work.

Looks great! My clutch lever on my 06 Pitbull is a real bear. Very hard to pull in. I'm going to try to adjust it like the way they posted on the forum. Maybe you should try to adjust it. Could be all it needs. Enjoy that bad boy!

Sold my '02 recently. Still have some left over parts; fork rebuild kit, clutch cable, tools, manuals, etc.
