My K9 quit on me

Hi Guys,
when I was out riding today my K9 just switched off or quit on me. I turned over and tried to restart but it wouldn´t start. The start motor works but it seems that when I look at the spark plugs they don´t get any spark.
Can anyone give me some advice what to check on the bike about this issue?
The battery is good but after several times of trying to start it lost power so I need to reload it now.

my first thoughts would be to change the plugs, check the plug wires, check for output from the coil.

should also use a meter, pull the plugs, put the leads on the battery terminals, and crank it over and see what kind of voltage you have. shouldn't be less than about 12.5vdc or so.

Are you still running the EHC? Thunderheart ignition?

Yes I still have the EHC. The bike has 5000 miles and it´s a 2007.

The very first thing I would look at is the Red LED on your ignition module.
Turn the key on and hit the run button. No Red LED then no power to the ignition module.

Well if I'm not mistaken if you are also running the Thunderheart ignition module it should flash red as the bike turns over. If it doesn't I think its the cam senser is bad? There is a post on here about it. I'm sure someone else will either correct me or agree with me on this. Lots of info here from smart people.

I looked at the EHC and when I switched on the power there was a yellow led and a green led lightning up. After I tried to start there was a red led blinking as well.

Check the led on the ignition module too. It should flash when you try to start it, when running it will be lit.

Try this:

1) Take off the seat and make sure the connections are good from your Ignition Module (The metal box mounted to the rear fender about the size of a credit card).
2) Turn the key to "ON".
3) While keeping an eye on your ignition module, press the "RUN" button.
a red LED light should light up for a few seconds on your Ignition Module, then go off.
4) Now press "START" while still watching your Ignition Module. The red LED light should 'flash/pulsate' as you are pressing the START button. The flashing LED confirms that your trigger plate (cam sensor) is most likely not the problem & is in good working condition.

Just to clarify he has an 07 and has a Crank Position Sensor not a Cam Sensor

you should have 3 LEDs on the ignition module. on my 2006 mastiff I have to take off the left side cover to see the ignition module. the red should come on after pressing the run switch. then the red should blink (not just dim but on and off) while the starter is turning over and also the yellow and blue should blink alternately while cranking. If you have the red light but it doesn't blink while cranking, then you have a bad crank sensor.

Ok guys I´ve been looking a bit into the K9 issue and I put on new spark plugs and it obviously has a spark now. I replaced the crank sensor and the ignition module but it won´t start. I did a compression test and it had almost no compression on both cylinders. Is that really possible or am I missing something? Do you guys have any other ideas I can try?
I checked the oil and it had too little oil so I had to fill up 4 dl to get a proper oil level.
Can it be something mechanical or what do you think?

Low compression is probably because of the compression reliefs activating when trying to start. If you have spark now then this is starting to sound more like a fuel issue.

Check to make sure your charging system is working. Could be your stator and voltage regulator.

Update on the K9, it still has no compression but engine sounds normal when trying to start.
The strange thing is that it´s blowing out air instead of sucking in air thru the air intake mounted on the carbureatour. When I look at the EHC there is a yellow led lightning up and a green led is flashing when turning on the ignition. Is this correct or is that a fault indication?
I really don´t have much more ideas so I would appreciate all ideas you can come up with.

check your pushrod adjustments, sounds like your valves are not closing all the way.
Or you broke a valve spring and bent a valve.
