My first 500 BD miles

I got my first 500 miles on her. (2006 K9 from Dream Machines of Texas) First thanks for the massive number of welcomes from my intro post. Here's what I learned so far. 1st, everything I ever wanted to know is already here...I Google an issue and whallah, there is the BDB post covering it, not so much luck using the search here. Seems to be a lot of dead links. Anyway I straitened out a malfunctioning speedo, jet change and carb tune and countless other ins and outs of this machine. All I had to do was Google. Oh, another one, people were not shitting you when they said keep the Dog on a trickle charger. I didn't do it at first and all sorts of nasty's began to happen. Got a trickle charger and it made a huge difference. So if this is your first BD, get one, .75 MA. 31$ eBay.

I still don't turn right very well, LOL, left looks pretty good. Taking some time getting used to that front end after 20 years on pro-street style bikes and another 8 years or so on regular bikes. Man, I love this machine....I was planning cam and other power increasing mods...Don't need it. She'll pick up the front tire in 1 and 2nd no problem and a tiny bit in third if I shift right...I'm thinking maybe they have already been done?

Anyway, I love my first "real motorcycle" as my good ole' drinking buddy Bubba-X, the Sgt. at Arms of a local MC said. "It's about F%$#$ time you parked that Honda and bought a real motorcycle, feels good doesn't it?" LMAO...It sure does.

Next Project, LED headlight. I know the info is here. Thanks for all this. Cary

Hey Devil Dog !! welcome aboard. I bought my dog about 6 months ago. It is at another Leatherneck's business: Strykercustomz getting repainted and a good going over. He lives near Austin and was a jet mechanic.. so he is good to go. Be sure to check out the thread Big Dogs Unleashed. Bigdogbiker is having a weekend get together 23 June in Kansas...

Congrats. When you search on here click the box that says search titles sometimes that helps. But I find alot on Google anyway. Definitely more power than a Honda as the Suzuki that I graduated from 6 yrs ago. As for the led headlight I personally never had any luck keeping them from blowing. Some on here have had better luck. I have the daymaker and no more problems and alot brighter. If u own a big dog this is by far the best source of tech info u will find. Ride on brother

Woo wee she sure is pretty!
Thank you, I live lake front on a private DIRT drive...it's terrible. I had AM off so I went and polished up pretty much every square inch and as soon as I roll out here in a bit with my backpack to the grocery store it will have all been for nothing. Lol. Same with my Vette, hasn't been clean since I moved here.

Did me too.. waiting on mine in the mail.. I got it from the link he sent me for amazon.
Hi Big, I see a lot of different "daymakers" do you still have that link? I'd like to see it...I'm hesitant to buy as a lot of them are coming from china. I'd like a "real" one...or at least one of known good quality. I don't care what it costs. Thank you.

Your never gonna find an LED not made in China. Over 90% of all LED chips are made in China. But with that said if you stick with OSRAM and CREE are the name brands, but made in China.
