Definitely doesn't need a larger wire I'm going to have to say it's from cranking too long what should the starter be drawing in the first place maybe I

Does it need the next larger gauge wire? Or is it cranking too long? Or is your starter drawing more than it should?
What are the chances of the contacts inside the solenoid being a little arced up creating a "high joint" and heating up? Kind of like the electrical receptacle in the house that has loose wiring, that heats up and burns the house down. I'd guess that if ya were to touch the terminal bolt on the starter right after cranking it over , it'd be pretty warm. ( or, maybe not) :2cents::2cents:
