my clutch worked fine last year, I took off all my parts that were chrome and aluminum and had them powder coated gloss black and flat black. when I went to put the bike back together, I could not get my clutch adjusted to disengage, I even turned the push rod all the way in and it still will not disengage. does anybody know what could cause this, I've been racking my brain day and night trying to figure it all out? I took the clutch plate cover off again make sure the bearings are in the right spot and everything else is right.

check your ball and ramp where the cable goes into the housing on the right side of the bike. if the balls are not in the slots properly, will not work.

I did double check my ball and ramp, that wouldn't be the problem because I push the push rod all the way in and it does not disengage the drive. I was thinking it might be the clutch plates, can that actually happen were they where they stick together, I had the primary cover off and drained for about a month before I put it back together?

if the discs and plates were not removed and cleaned, the oil could have gelled and stuck them together. best thing would be to open the primary back up and pull the clutch and clean it. make sure you do not flip any of them out of order.

actually, the best thing would be to put on an open primary!:cheers:

Pull your primary cover back off, pull out the clutch pack ALL together as a unit, put a zip-tie around it and snug it down(but not tight):)...... Then get a drain pan,or can,and fill it with your style of primary lube and let it soak over night, the fricton clutchs need to soak up some oil..........then pull it out and re-install and adjust clutch up,should be ok...IF NOT,then ball and ramp assembly like WoodButcher had previously mentioned:2thumbs:.......

Good Luck and let us know how it go's.........

I got it figured out, it was a clutch plates stuck together. I just grabs onto the back wheel and yanked it back and forth until it broke free, now I can spin the wheel :)
