My 2006 K-9 hesitates at higher speeds (50-75mph). RPMs fluctuate wildly too.

I think you're Wrong, sir.Sounds like you need to adjust the point where the low speed jet drops off and the hi speed jet takes over.OR I could be all wrong!
Did you ever hold your hand over the intake on a carb and feel how strong that is? I could be wrong about this too, but if I think I'm going to listen to someone speak of a signal change or some jet drops off and lets the other take over, I'd really-really have to see a tiny door with hinges and padding around the door so no fuel can come out of the next jet and signal the next jet to open its padded door and let the whacks figure out gas out of 3 open holes as in linear they all are open sort of common sense the fuck are you thinking??!!

You should see me tearing up the tech at some other bike site. Today I get the thought police [monitor] thought I'm 'too over the top' for the place. If I drilled 3 holes in the wall.
If I opened 3 windows in a room.
If I turned the fan on in the room is that 3 leaks out the room or one pressure release out a hole or window?
How simple is a carb's low/mid/main holes looking to you now with very few words ripping a new ahole to the science. And no offense, but I asked a carb designer about jet holes and he said you'd have to drop the bike off a cliff so the main jet would suck out the hole with the needle down and the bike going over 200 mph if the slide was closed.
So a bike comes in that wouldn't idle. I found an eyelash hair in the main jet. It was sticking up at an angle, still could let gas pass. Removed the hair, the bike started, idled and ran perfect. That's how I can blow away your abstracts. And this guy is Dr. something with degreesandshit.
Besides, Franco comes to me to get things sounding simple and like it's no other way in my world things work.

Well my prob I had with my BD after I bought it from a private sale, previous owner had let it set for a while. Had low mileage and in great looking shape. But after running a couple tanks of gas it wud begin to cough and act like running out of gas. Got annoying. Gas filter was clean on left side but outlet on Right side was stopping up from rust particles. Used a piece of small wire to stick in the gas outlet and it begin to drain. However it eventually did it twice more. Finally had to remove gas tank and clean it out with cider vinegar. It was bad with gobs of rust debris. I got the big stuff out of the tank with a lot of flushing and draining and shaking. With the recessed gas tank inlet, its hard to get all out. The cheap gas doesnt help matters. But got it cleaned out and jst for safet, I put a small gas filter inline until it is shows NO signs of tiny particles.

You still running reflectors on your bike?
It could be the wind catching a couple of them causing a little turbulence......

Now that was a nice service manual..a lot of good info there. Is there anyone out there that has that manual for the year 2002? Just got my pro sport back from shop tonight and now mt tach doesn't work, no light or anything
