I have developed an oil leak on the right side on two oil lines that have rubbed or vibrated together and wore a hole in one of them. Just an FYI to check yours to avoid this problem!!!! I am without my bike for a week waiting on new oil lines.

Several years ago I was hauling ass to Memphis, TN from San Diego for duty and while passing through OKC in heavy traffic I hit one of those rubber gaurd rail cushions. The car in front of me spit it out and it was all I could do to veer around it and miss it with the front wheel. Don't know what would have happened it I had hit straight on! Anyway it went under my footpeg and hit the frame rail bouncing me in the air and breaking the rear tire loose. It was all I could do to keep it on the road. But I got it over to the side and all I could see was shreds of rubber hanging off the frame rails. Nothing else looked out of place, no leaks and everything seemed fine so off I went. Had to get to Sparks America!!!

Well six months later I develop and oil leak and had the shop check it out and this is what they found. Guess that rubber block had hit the oil lines and stripped the SS sheath off them. Amazing that it ran like this for over 6 months without rupturing.
Guess the moral of the story is when you have an oil leak get it checked out. Don't know what would have happened if this had ruptured going down the road dumping all my oil. Imagine the motor wouldn't have ran for long!!

I had the same problem and decided to order new fittings and lines through Jeggs and built my own seems to be working great.

Joe: There should be a shop in the local area that could make the lines up for you. I had a new return line made up. Cost $40. I don't have any Bigdog dealers around.

Just noticed tonight my Mutt is starting to leak a little oil on the return line. Riding tomorrow and will keep an eye on. Joe, do you remember what the length was for the return line. Would like to order tonight to get early next week. In fact was thinking about ordering a whole set. Could not find anything in the manual that gave the length of the lines. Too many jack and cokes to measure tonight:D
