That map looks like a party to me stock up on beer and get the generator working
04 was no party! Two major storms hit us three weeks apart, 2nd one had us on a generator for 30 days!!! Had to work 12-14hrs a day strait through for 6 weeks or so. (No OT!!)

I remember 2004.....that was the year everyone said Orlando hadn't seen a hurricane in 15yrs and never boarded-up WTF. Charley came right down our street. Power was out for 10 days. We were on a well, so no water, 95 with 99% humidity at midnight, ice was gone by day 2. Day 6 we checked into hotel at Disney. Day 20 I wired the house for a generator. Got a lot of use out of it for the next 3yrs. Don't miss those days.

I think Florida will be ok with this one.

Just think of the overtime and the money you made Hurricanes are bad. But if you work them like I have to make a living you look at it in a different way. I owned Blue Water Bay Generators INC. BWBG.COM a full time generator business for years until I had two heart attack and back serge I sold the business. I have worked Hurricanes from Miami Florida to Hattiesburg Mississippi and have seen some of the worst. But you will find a lot of good people along the way and a lot of good hurricane party’s.

I dont get paid OT! Salary or as they like to say Exempt. Time you will never get back. Also it’s no party watching your personal property devastated with nothing you can do to stop it and then fighting the insurance company’s to get what’s right.
Also thet's when the Vultures show up!!!

Lightweight sorry looks like this got High Jacked and I’m sorry. I’m glad you will be close and we can hook up! I wish I knew ya all back in 04, I’m sure I would have had a lot of support that was lacking back then!!!!

I remember seeing this some time ago. Thought it was funny ..... well kinda! Like BB said though when it's your life and you lose it all, not so damn funny. No matter where you go it will always have its pros and cons. Hoping more pros then cons.

Just be positive !

Just be positive !
The weather always changes (fall, winter and spring is the best riding)
You will get a lot of good riding in and meet a lot of good people.

Stacy I lost a lot when hurricane Ivan hit Pensacola and Destin and so did most of Florida we had some bad storms but there is nothing you can do about it but rebuild and move on with your life and stash money back for next hurricane (BB is right the insurance company's don't pay )

Hi Stacy,

good decision, thats what I allways wanted to do, moving to Florida. But it is a big step
from Germany. Hope we see us in Daytona for Biketoberfest, I will be there whit Christina.
Klaus
Lewis I will for sure be there for Biketoberfest friend! We will ride again! In regard to you moving, probably a little more involved than my move. You have a little body of water to contend with. What did you end up doing with the bike you bought sight unseen just to ride in Daytona?

Go through 1 bad hurricane, and you won't joke about.:bang:
Andrew and Wilma were badass. I was doing heads in the local firehouse bay, while also on FEMA payroll. Had to come home from Biketoberfest early in '05 to fight with Wilma.
