Mothers PowerMetal anyone try?

Has anyone tried the Mothers PowerMetal aluminum polish yet. I did a search and found nothing. It says it's for the powerball. But I have the wizard polish and it seams to be doing good. But I can see scratches, so I was going to get the mothers billet polish to see if I could clean those up and really make her shine. I found the powerball and the above polish, but did not see the billet so I thought I would ask?????

The billet is a paste, right??? The one they had is a little 4 or 5 oz jar... I noticed another post and someone mentioned a 4 oz jar. So I am guessing it's the right stuff?

tried the mothers power metal on the rims and billet, and the chrome polish on the rest of the shiny stuff. I got the rims to look like mirrors after about 4 hours and a few cold ones. IMO the mini ball is only good for application to the large surface areas on the rims.

for what its worth..........on the paint i use mequires tech wax 2.0 when i have the time. then hit it with the mequires quick detailer every now and then to make it look good.

hope that helps:2thumbs:

I use the Power Ball with the Billet Paste and have no complaints and it has saved me numerous hours on some of the larger surfaces. That said, still need to spend some loving time doing many parts by hand, but even then the Billet Pollish works for me and with enough time and efforts, any small scratches tend to come out (only to be replace on the next few rides with new ones).

Billet polish. The secret is to use softest towel you can find like baby diapers. There are some other white towels you can pick up at the local Auto parts store but I cannot recall the name I know they're not the terry cloth they're much smoother like a diaper. Hope this helps.

There are tons of tips in the Show n shine section try a search...

Thanks for the info.
I'm not a big fan of the buffing, but I had to get some new tubes, and they ordered me chrome ones. Once they were installed, I figured I may as well make the rest sparkle. What a bitch... But I figured, I can't ride it, so I better rub it. I put about 4 hrs into it last weekend. And I still have plenty to do...
I tried talking the wife into doing it for me in a bikini or nothing. I even told her I would turn the heat up in garage real nice. She said, no. Women!!!!!!!
I have been looking at the post for the last week or so. I have a good start on the front end using the wizards polish. I have the lowers, support bracket, caliper, and about 2/3 of the front rim on one side done. I have been using a buffing pad on the drill an old hanes tshirt to wipe and a micro fiber to apply. Looking good. But I am wanting it to shine, so I figured I would try the mothers billet to top it off once I am all done. I just picked up a mini ball and the billet, so once I get the front rim done I will try the billet.. I took some before pictures, and I will get some when I am done. I will post them when I am done.
Thanks again.

Cotton shirt seems to be doing decent, but I will have to look for a baby diaper, and I will get some of the Weiman's Silver polish when I am all done. That's if I am not sick of it by then..
I have about 5 hrs into it right now, and that's just the front end. Finished up the front rim on one side today. Now I just have the other side to do.. Then to the back, and then all the parts in between. I have been doing 3 layers and that's not using the billet pollish, yet!

How do you guys get her done in one day??? My chopper is an 04, and it's the first time being done. But damn, I want to go ride her not polish her. I am trying to talk the wife into another photo shoot, once I get her shiny. :2thumbs:

Just read an article on polishing. Here it is "Important note: Never polish billet or any soft metal with micro fiber towels – they will scratch the metal surface. Cross weave and course materials (T shirts, diapers and bath towels) are not suitable for use on billet, as they will also leave scratches. To properly care for billet equipment, use ONLY COTTON FLEECE (sweat shirt material) and no other cloth."

My previous post may not be all that correct according to this...

erldog,
I will give the sweat shirt a try. I will start the back rim with a sweat shirt and see how it turns out.
I was going to start putting on the mothers billet polish tomorrow on the front end with the mini ball I bought, I will see if it will help clean up the front's scratches..

I use Mothers mag and aluminuim polish. Does a decent job but I can't get rid of the water spots that are on the rim. I thought this stuff would do the job but it didn't. Anyone ever have this problem and what did you use to get the spots off?
