Yeah i found the threads. Made a decent tool. But that thing is really stuck on there. I heated it ALOT. Guess i'll have to use my time on it

But, the housing cant be pulled straight up can it? Has to be twisted / turned?

Aight... Im lookin to change to a HD gas cap. I haven't got the old one off yet, but does anyone know what the diameter of the hole is without the housing, or if this will fit (vented one)?

PS: Drying out the tank i sturred it abit to check for leftovers. Heh, i heard something. It was approx a 2 by 2 inch liner flake that had come off..

Can't get to it though. Anyone ever pulled out the housing for the gas cap?

Does it turn off ? And is it glued to the tank?

You can download carb tuning instructions straight from the S&S web site. Made a big difference on my '03 chop.

IMO Removing the gas cap bung is the last thing I would do. Sorta falls in the category of spinal surgery. Only if absolutely necessary!

It was a nightmare to get off. The funny thing is, when i finally did, there was another bung under the top. And that bung was actually the same one on the Picture i posted above that i ordered with a new cap for a 82-95 HD. So basecally Big Dog Used a HD bung, and put theyre own on top.

The crappy thing is that its welded on, and i didnt get a bigger hole like i hoped. I got the loose liner bit out anyway though. Rinsed the tank with brakecleaner and fuel. Put it back together. Runs fine now

Still, its not great under 2500 rpm. Anything but smooth. So gonna try get it on a dyno, and jet / tune...

Did you clean the Carb and the jets too?

Yeah, cleaned everything. It's running ok atm. But still abit funny when im trying to maintain any speed cruising. And it still gives me a few coughs now and then. Also gives me a bang some times when i release the throttle. Have ordered a Super G rebuild kit. So gonna try that next.
