Mirror adaptors

OK , I bought some super cool looking skull arm/hand mirrors and with some new bolts got the left side installed with no problem. Then I started putting the right side on and saw there is a radius on the hand brake right where the mirror would sit flush on a flat surface. WTH

How the heck do I mount these? I went through the previous post and found that someone had mentioned some mirror adaptors from wicked ___? I looked on their web site and didn't find anything.

How do I install these. I thought it would be simple. Ha Ha

BDM made mirror adapters. The kit came with a round spacer and bolts. Call Strokers or Biker Dreams in Atlanta and they will hook you up.

I would also use RED loctite to screw the mirror into the arm. I used BLUE the first time and the mirror came loose on my first ride. In the future when you want to loosen it, you will need to apply a little heat to soften the loctite to break it loose.

Anybody try Loctite "Quicktape" 249 medium strength threadlocker?

It's a tape that you wrap around threads vs. using the liquid stuff - seems easier/less messy.

BUT..does it work??

I saw it demonstrated at the ROT Rally last year and bought some but have yet to use it. I think it will work just fine.

I made my own adaptors. All you need to do is get a couple sockets the right size and cut them down and drill them out. I did this on my bike and they look great and didn't cost me a thing. Don't forget to measure so your mirrors are the same height on both sides.

well I just recieved them. For $20 I got four bolts and two spacers just like Mikeetwo said??? guess I will try them out. Doesnt seem like anything that would work but we will see

I would not have believed it but the spacers worked great and look OK. I had to still place 3 ss washers on the brake side so the base of the mirror would not hit the brake resovoir. The $20 plus 12 shipping seemed a little steep for the 4 bolts and two spacers but was definately worth it to finish the job.

I took pictures to post but they were a little blurry. I'll retake and post them this weekend I hope.

Thanks
