I was really expecting to have no difference at all by switching to 2 single coils from the single coil that came on my 2009 Mastiff.

But it does appear that my MPG has dropped and not just a little.
Before the dual coil mode, I was getting 42 to 44 MPG and that was high speeds runs with the club.

Now I am getting 33 to 35 MPG.

Anyone able to explaing why this has happened , please do so.

Power feels about the same as it always had been (plenty)

thanks

I don't know what to tell you...I just returned from a road trip in New Mexico-at one point, I was getting about 49mpg...

I'll keep an eye on the mileage, this doesn't make any sense to me.

I have never gotten 49, but usually get 43 or so with an occasional 45. This last ride (the 35) was with my old lady on the back and a fairly constant 90-100 mph velocity. I am pretty sure we have gotten in the 40's doing this before. Maybe the high temp (close to 100) was a factor.

OK, I figured it out. Here is what's happening: my speedo is defective and is not showing enough miles. So it may say I rode 35 miles when thew actual distance was 60. My new speedo has been on warranty backorder for a while. I got 1 month left on the warranty...
