Microfiber?

Do you guys recommend using microfiber cloths to clean your bikes. I've had several people say that they feel microfiber scratches the finish. I'm not sure if they were taliking about using microfiber for applying or wiping.

Micro fiber can be good as long as you go with the 80/20 blend and stay away from the 70/30 blend.

I also use "diaper" towels and they work really well.

Any dirty towel will scratch your paint, that being said I use 10-15 micro fiber towels when waxing my Victory XC and mastiff. One side is used to apply the wax or polish and the other side is used to remove it, once down with that section a new towel is used for the next area.

Certain colors can also show more scratches than others. Black being the worst. I know

Best set up I have found is the "Black Box" which is a black pigmented pre-wax and wax. I have seen some other colored waxes on e-bay.

:2thumbs:Thanks for the info. I didn't even know there was an 80/20 or 70/30 blend. I had to run to the garage and look. Thank goodness it was 80/20.

Too bad they were made in China so is it really 80/20?:bang::bang:

Agrees with Earl. Those white ones from Autozone will not scatch at all. Those other micro fiber rags , like from walmart will scratch if you are rubbing the hell out it.

I buy the microfiber towels by the batch at Costco or Sams Club,have been using them since they come out,on all my toys and all the cars I paint at the shop after wetsanding and buffing....never ever had any problems whatsoever....

These don't scratch at all! That is what I use on the scooter. The blue ones will scratch if you on crazy rubbing. by experience

Auto Zone Spa Towels above (white) are the best, when polishing the billet, I apply using this cloth and take off with a clean one, great luster...no micro scratches whatsoever.....just have to make sure they are clean prior to use.

It's all I use now... but be sure to remove any tags and all of it. Those will leave scratches too.

I wish Biker Babe or someone else would offer these the right microfiber towels so I don't have to think about getting the wrong blend.
