Memory Check Light

Hi Again,

In fiddling around so much with my ignition wires in order to replicate my shut off fault, which I have now successfully identified the cause of as noted in my other thread, now my 'Memory Check' LED light on the EHC is permanently lit and I can't seem to get it to go out. It has never come on before, in fact I didn't know what it was so I had to look it up.

Can anyone tell me what this means please and if I should be concerned?

And can anyone tell me how to turn it off or reset it? Would disconnecting the battery do it?

Thanks.

Here you go Curtis. The picture isn't great but the light in question is the red LED top left, next to the green 'controller on' light that blinks when the ignition is on but without the bike running. Normally I only have that green one and the amber 'power' LED below it on but since fixing my ignition wiring I now have this red one too, in fact it came on whilst I was fiddling with the cable. I looked it up and according to the diagram I found it's called 'Memory Check', well unless the EHC in my Wolf is different to the 2007 one I found a picture of on here. I tried disconnecting the battery for an hour but it made no difference, light is still on.

Thanks again for all your advice man.

That is the memory check light.
Something has happened to the EHC's memory and is not correcting itself.

The EHC allows for a manual memory/software
check to help diagnose possible EHC-related
problems. To start a memory check on the EHC,
simply hold the left turn signal button in with your
right hand while you switch the key to the ON
position with the left hand. The power-up circuit
will not activate until the check is complete. All but
the PC Link diagnostic LED will illuminate until the
check is complete. The test takes approximately 3
seconds to complete. If no fault is found the EHC
exits check mode and turns on the power-up circuit.
It is common for the left turn signal to be activated.

If a fault is found the power-up circuit will remain
off, and up to four diagnostic LEDs will light to
show a fault. To reset the EHC after a memory
check has indicated a fault, cycle the key OFF then
ON. Depending on the severity of the fault, the bike
will power up and can be ridden.

If you get fault LEDS post a pic here of them lit.

Hi Curtis,

I already performed the manual memory check test, I found the instructions of how to do it on here (where else) but it didn't throw up any errors, well either that or I'm not doing it right but it seems pretty straightforward, hold down left indicator button, turn ignition on.

I still can't get the memory check light to go out though. Bike runs and rides fine (so far) but I just don't like having unexplained warning lights I can't clear. any other suggestions?
