I have been a member here for about a week, and already feel like part of a family. I just wanted to thank you guys for the comments, advice and opportunity to make new friends and ride. I thought it was cool when I had a jeep and jeepsters would wave to each other; when I had a Vette, and owners would wave. But this is way past that. I am looking forward to meeting some of you all and riding. As someone who is just getting back into it after a looong layoff, I appreciate the help and collegiality!

Just like any family you'll always get alot of advice and opinions on this site :D . But thats what everybody's here for. Hope to ride with you one day :2thumbs:

Jerry C,

Welcome and like all, it is a good family here for the most part. Has such, most will be good, but there will always be a few disagreements, drama, some good nature rubbing given and recieved, and occasional the family needing to let one of the kids to cross back over a line.

Do not know if you have been checking out the threads recently, but this Sunday is a major, in fact the Major event for Motorcycle in Washington DC. It appears that more than a few will coming from your area and right now it is looking like some of down across the Mason-Dixon will be meeting up with them and then riding in group to support the event.

Not sure what your plans are for Sunday, but if you are flexible, would be an excellent time to join us and get to know many of the members on here from the general area including some fo the Jersey crew.

Here is a couple of links concerning this Sunday:

Once again Welcome and hope to see you on here for a long time and hopefully on the roads sometime soon.

Sul,

If Jerry does all that, the main question is will he be able to find an open place for a cool drink in DC or N VA?

As a newbie I was unaware of the big ride in DC. I will have to figure this out: My wife didn't even know i bought a bike until last night, not that it is any of her business. (The bike was at my friends - not hiding it, but just getting it sorted out. Note that my bike does NOT have a passenger seat - for a reason.) I think i can make it - but I sure would like to be able to carry something more than sunglasses and a cigar. I sure wish I got that sissy a couple of weeks ago... I will let you know and hope to see you guys! J

Welcome Jerry! I am a newbie here myself. What year jeep did you have? I still have an 86 CJ7 Laredo I bought in 87. Still runs great. Can't bring myself to part with it.

I had a 95 YJ - I loved it and thought I would keep it forever. Well, shit happens. Same for my Vette. Kids in college, biz needs cash, and there you go.
