It was a great 3yr run of the May Thang !

Sooo.. many highlights, great people !

My first encounter with Steff and Tracey was the wedding week ! It was announced that the week following Dave's spring event people wanting to continue could come on over and participate in the celebration and wedding party . I was a first year Bid Dog owner, I contacted them and asked about coming over . Without hesitation they said yes without ever meeting me ! Quite a confident and brave answer :D :oldlaugh: :D

I didn't take a lot of pictures at the May Thang, although I saw a lot of things that I will always remember. The ride to Shiloh was great! For me, as a student of history, it was a somber and humbling experience. To be at the places that I've only read about where "men fell like wheat before the scythe" was truly moving. The Patsy Cline memorial was neat too. Although I wasn't a big country fan, I consider her part of my childhood, as I remember my mother playing her songs. The biggest lesson I will take away from the Douglas property is that I need to take more pictures of the "living and the here-and-now". I'm gonna do better at that, because the big dog family is truly special, and I love every one of them! I can't wait to see everyone again!

I truly can’t Thank, Knot & Stephanie and Bobby enough for letting me into their lives. On the heels of losing my Best Friend in the World. I decided to ask was it ok to visit with them for their beautiful wedding. The only BDB’er I had met to that time was Shannon. They said sure come on & ride. WAS the best decision of my life. Great memories and GREAT friends were to follow. Will surely miss visiting with them at the Douglas Estate. Some pictures from my 3 amazing visits! Who is that fat guy just out of frame? Damn guy signed right in the center of that table! You'd think he might think he mightbe somebody one day (boy is time running out on that one!)
Not sure, but i believe that's the guy that always refuses to be photographed so as not to jeopardize his participation in the Witness Protection Program! Had something to do with the Lindbergh baby kidnaping, or Watergate Break In, or something like that. ( But I'll never tell!) P.S. He's not fat, He's just a bit rotund .

Yeah, Sasquatch spotted me once but no one believes him because the photo was so blurry!

I did see him on a Bud Light Can !
That's sinking low.

Let's kill this part of this thread hijack and get it back to May Thang Tribute.

The one thing that sticks out for me, is I was never so happy to get a phone call from Knothead and have him say "Tell Robert to take Shane's porsche adn trailer and rescue Shane/bike.

For this that don't remember, we found the key (eventually) in the porsche, Hooked up the trailer to the hitch.
While driving down the road, Robert looked back and could not see the trailer, so he proceeded to stop.
This resulted in a sudden SLAM into the porsche bu the trailer
It would seem that the pin that holds the hitch in had decided to go away and take it's own vacation.
Now I can't begin to know that feeling of driving someone elses car and trailer and having said trailer slam into the back/undercarriage.
To make matters worse, the triler impacted with enough force to just lift the rear end leaving no rear traction and making it rather difficult to get the porsche moving again.
Disconnect trailer and head to Love's hoping to find a trailer pin -- no luck.
Return to location, trailer luckily still there and while looking in the back of the porsche (hatchback) Low and behold there is a "spare" hitch pin.
re-attach hitch and proceed to rescue Shane.

I have since sent a locking hitch pin to shane so this should not happen again.
But if Shane ever calls and says "Use my porsche and bring my trailer" I'd check that pin really good!

My memory /nightmare of the may thang is knot taking us on the ride by the lake with all the rocks painted with graffiti and that damn water moccasin slitherin across the road to do battle with the resurrected mastiff . Which was fine but not while I was on the dang bike. I really hate snakes. Than in October ,he did it again while we in the truck and if there had been a Sun roof to exit out of I’d have been on the roof.. Thinking back on it , why do I hang around friends that do that shit to me anyway? Because they are the best people ever and I love all of them , Thankyou my friends for providing these and so many more memories for all of us As we were truly the blessed ones.
