Rick and Roger , I want to sincerely apologize to you publicly for the dumbass individual that rode right on by you guys broken down on a narrow two lane road and in an extremely dangerous area with no shoulders. That is not the way to treat the legends of the Bigdog world or anyone broken down for that matter. If it wasn’t for a selfless young man from Gillette wyo that stopped on a mt pass to help two individuals that he didn’t know this fall ,Buffy and I would have been statistics instead of hosting this event.
Thank goodness nothing bad happened to you guys and you made it back home safe.
I can’t stand inconsiderate people and im sorry, Rudeness has no place in our group. I hope that there are no hard feelings toward us since you two have been inspirational to multitudes here and have so graciously helped so many Bigdog owners. This guy has potentially sabotaged both of the only events for Bigdog riders there has been in many years and ,
What occurred I can’t change ,
BUT :::::::::::: I can promise that it won’t happen again Here at the farm.

It is 100% un-acceptable that fellow Big Dog riders were left on the side of the road by other Big Dog owners.
I was taught that motorcycles riders are brotherhood and help one another,PERIOD
Ive stopped for complete strangers on crotch rockers, harleys, it doesn't matter.
But to be at a Big Dog event and pass 2 Big dog's and leave them hanging, speaks volumes to the lack of character of certain people.
Even, if it wasn't our legendary duo, and some unknown bdm rider that would have been reprehensible behavour.
I will say this regarding the guilty party -- you are dead to me.

That reminds me of the time when there was some kind of to-do at the Harley factory, and all the Harley riders were on the road to and from that event. Myself and Jeff were sitting on the side of the road with a dead ignition module in my bike. Packs of Harleys blew by us without even acknowledging us or offering to stop to check if we needed help. The only person that pulled over to the side of the road was a really sweet lady with 2 small kids in her car. She said that she noticed that all those other "bikers" had passed us by and she was wanting to make sure we were ok. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that those people who rode right on by are not what I consider to be bikers, but are uncaring assholes.
Damn it man…. I don’t know & probably don’t want to know…. Not cool though especially if it was Roger & Rick. My God I can’t even imagine doing that..

What’s unfortunate is one has added so much to this group when he is by himself and is a real joy to be around and I’m 99% sure the outcome would have been different if he was alone.

Moving on from this : A big Thankyou to Derek and Donna for the box of Big Dog beanie hats to pass out. The weather is cooling down so they’ll be used real soon Thankyou.
Jersey Mike and his thoughtful party on the farm 2024 Swag gift of a laser etched flask Was a huge surprise and I think most of them went home filled with farm fuel courtesy of chubbs.

By no means do I want to take away from Rick and Roger, but it is NOT cool to just run by someone in distress, whether it be on the road or anywhere else. People need to realize that we are all in this together. I was taught that if someone needs help, and if you are able, you help them!

I also wish to thank those that contributed to this and all the other "gathering at the farm" events. I also think each and every one of us need to give our greatest thanks and appreciation to Dave and Buffy for allowing us all to use their home and services to get together and enjoy visiting with friends that we can only hook up with once a year. Again, THANK YOU DAVE and BUFFY !

As i told Dave's mom tonight. Dave is without a doubt one of the nicest people on the planet. I have been treated like a lonb list brotger since i pulled into the farm eight years ago.
Dave,Buffy and the majority of the people at this gathering are and will always be my family, and that includes some of our missing members at this years event.
let's move on from this debacle and lets see your photos ftom this year.

One of the old ones.
You all know that Blacktopper has been responsible for leading me astray and every ‘bad decision’or ‘unhappy consequence’ in my life since we started hanging out. Including buying a Big Dog. I’d worn out several big HD’s and along comes Roger saying “Here—just ride my chopper for a while and see what you think…” that resulted in my first ‘08 K9. Since then we are probably at 200K miles of travel on Big Dogs since then and have particpated in many events and gotten to know many members.
Also understand that I can work on my bike, but Blacktopper is another level—a very skilled and creative mechanic—-his ‘street smarts’ will keep you on the road for sure.
We were riding to Gentry, AR to meet up with everyone from Dave’s to take a ride near Devil’s Den to see Jonathan’s (Liferider) place. My shift rod snapped (you know—the fancy custom aftermarket kind —all chrome with little skulls and flames). Cheap-ass pot metal snapped. So I pulled off the road onto a side street. I only live about 25 minutes from Mastiff Dave’s and have about 3 OEM shift rods at home in a drawer. So I told Blacktopper to go get ‘em and we’ll fix it. Typical for him, Blacktopper looked at the snapped rod and said, “Let’s just hand shift your bike into 3rd gear. Feather your clutch and ride it home—we’ll fix it on the lift. Good idea! We did.
Thank you so much Dave and Buffy and all the others who worked so hard (esp H-Man)—I highly value your excellent contributions. Party at the Farm is definitely a high point of my riding season, even if Dave’s Farm is only 25 minutes from my house!
Through the years there have been many times the ‘Big Dog Family‘ has saved my butt--that’s how we met Big Dog Rick in Phoenix. Rick Fairless saved my butt more than once at Stroker’s in Dallas. Keith (EZDog) gave us his truck to get to a motel so we didn’t have to ride isolated at night from Knothead’s. I cannot say how many times I’ve called Eric (The Infamous1) or Mr. Wright with mechanical questions. I highly value all the relationships and connections we’ve made through the years. All based on respect, trust and integrity.
One thing I know for sure—one call to Mastiff Dave and he’ll be there. I know the same is true for other BD riders too. I don’t think too much on the riders that passed us by because they are few, and the light of their lives probably won’t throw a spark beyond their immediate cohorts. My Big Dog brothers and sisters (you too Tana and Rosalie) make me a better person—even in their absence. I know there are many I’d love to ride with who have family, work, finances obligations that take precedence—time will help that issue. But there is an inner circle and all are welcome to join—-but stand ready to participate if called—if not, be the one who just keeps ridin’ down the road. The former are driven by virtues, the latter by vices.

Talk about man’s best friend! Apparently while I was with y’all in Arkansas my stepson Pierce got an upper respiratory virus and feeling horrible he came home to momma for help instead of calling and asking his mother the pharmacist what to do. Well apparently after he left to go home he left some cooties for Colleen to catch, which she did! So I’m staying in the guest room, and look who’s bunking with me. My 15 yr old 50 pound fat ass beagle! So funny Colleen goes oh yeah, just wait till he goes back to the Arkansas farm and then let’s see who you brown nose up to!! Nothing like unconditional love our fur babies give us!

It’s tuesday morning and it’s coffee in the living room for the hard core farm visitors After another late nite telling stories. Also a pic of the flask that Jersey brought us all .
Harry is the last one to thank but without his cooking expertise we’d all have went hungry. He shipped a crazy amount of bacon and sausages for,breakfast every morning and don’t forget the cheesy pancakes. Hes always fed us at least one meal of brisket and ribs which he has perfected a method of fixing at home and freezing and shipped also. They were so good I’ve ordered 8 and pay him for his service and ship them here. I’ve never had a brisket that good ever. If you liked the brisket order one from harry and the money he gets can go to fixing his yellow chop. .
Steve also need thanks for the pork steaks he brought and the brats And with his expertise cooking them it was a meal fit for a king.
