Mastiff Shifting

I encountered a new issue yesterday with my 07 mastiff. Got caught in the rain Wednesday night noticed immediately I couln't downshift into lower gears. Got out yesterday and noticed all shifting was now difficult to find gears and settled into 5th and 6th luckily on the interstate. When I pulled over if I hand wrenched the gears it would go but no other way. After sitting a couple of hours I made my way back with no problems.
QUESTION* will water or any other substance affect the control levers or tranny? Just seems odd that it stated like that all of a sudden.

the shifter rod joints got crap in them, just clean & lub them!! if you dont keep your rod lubed it will get stuck!!!! ha ha

What he said sounds like sticking heimy's (heim joints). Also check you forward control housing as well, crud can and will get in there.:2thumbs:

THX! That confirms what the dealer is suggesting, just hate to take it in and sit there for days on end.

Be sure to remove the shifter linkage and work the heims off the bike. You simply can't get enough movement in them when mounted. Use a good dry lube like you use on the cables.
