masstiff gas tank

ok guys,my 2004 masstiff owners manual says i have a 5.2 gal tank with reserve.when i hit reserve it only takes 3 gallons to filler up.is this normal?i guess i could fill up and drain to see what useable gas i have.anyone else have this issue? thanks

You got the right idea Mobsta!

Fill up your bike at a nearby station, ride it home. Drain tanks into an empty gas can and see what your main and reserves 'give' you.

That's what I did to really see what's what.:2thumbs:

thanks,just did search .some guys found dirty screen in tank.will do drain test then check screen while empty.thanks again

Mobsta,
while you have your tanks empty, check your crossover line which carries fuel from one fuel cell to the other and also check your vent line which helps with the gravity feed as well. Make sure all that stuff is 'clear' and unobstructed.:2thumbs:

just replaced cross over this weekend,i have had this problem along time.i was told all normal.never made sence to me.thanks for the advise i will check all others hoses and vents.one other thing i did was removed vent piece from cap.havent riden since.thanks again
