MARYLAND TAG HELP!!

I just recieved my perssonalized tag ..DOGSTL.. and because of the stupid ASSSSS'sss from the Maryland DMV, the tag (because it has 6 letters and as we know, the large size)) can not be cut down to fit in the tag bracket. For those who have copied and laminated their tag,s, what % of reduction, type paper, any problems with the police etc,etc etc. I know I read something about this issue somewhere here, but I can't seem to find it.

77% I beleive is the size you need to shrink it to. Just take it to a kinkos or any copy store and ask them to put it on heavy stock and laminate it. It will cost you under 10 dollars.

I'm not sure about the %, I had a buddy do mine for me. We used regular paper then laminated it twice. Remember to punch the screw holes before you laminate it or it will bleed when it gets wet.

As for police...haven't had a problem yet, knock on wood.

DOGESTYLE, take it to a sign shop. they can put it on a reflective material. I took my licence frame in with it ( to get the right size). as far as the law goes as long as the letters are one inch high and 1/4 inch in diameter it is ok. On a positive note Maryland is changing the size of their tags next month. I think that just leaves one state with the larger tags.

i was able to trim mine down to make it fit, but i see that the 6 letters would be a problem. i think you are lucky to get the dmv to issue that tag---i love it but they can be funny about that kind of thing.

do you know for sure that next month will be the month????? I have heard rumors over the past couple of years about the smaller tag..

I talked with a buddy of mine this past weekend. he is part of Maryland Abate. He said the governer is supposed to sign it next month. I'm not sure when it goes into effect, i will check and get back to you
