Manifold Install ? on 05 w/ plates

I'm in the middle of installing a XXX g-carb and g-manifold (part#16-2595) on my 05 ridgeback. I've read on here that you need to either keep the restrictor plates on or get a spacer kit to replace the plates for the XXX "e" carb and manifold. Well since I'm installing a "g" carb can I just remove the restrictor plates and mount the g-manifold directly to the heads without a spacer kit?? I've been trying to mount it with the restrictor plates on and cannot get the holes to lineup due to the thickness of the plates.

Thanks

I know I need to remove them, but I'm wondering if I need a spacer to take the place of them and if it helps prevent any leaks. I just don't see how a spacer would fit though. I guess my main question is, can I install the manifold flanges directly to the cylinder heads?

nevermind. no need for spacer kit when using the g-manifold. mounted flush and I don't see how any leaks could start.

You should not need any spacers if you have the right manifold. :2thumbs:

On times where I have needed a spacer I just used foam backer rod and roofing tar. Let in set up and then sprayed it with bumper chrome paint from a rattle can.

if your removing a e carb the g will not bolt to that manifold....the 05 cylinders are taller due to the epa crap that BD did....i would call john sacs and have him send you the proper manifold...thats what i did...bolted right up no spacers...
