You guys should see the big grin on my face. I have owned a few bikes in my life. In 2005 I went with the Goldwing GL1800. A great bike and fun to ride, can ride 500+ miles a day on it.
However, I have always craved having a Bad Ass Scooter that makes a statement.
Well just last week my dream came true... Picked up a mint condition 2005 Pitbull. Even though the temperatures have been in the 40's, I have taken her out every free moment I can find.
At first it seemed very hard to ride, comming from a Goldwing to a rigid with a 300 rear tire. But today, I got in some serious riding, and am really getting the feel for her and she rides GREAT!
I am 51 years old but today felt like 20 again!!!!
Just had to tell somebody how I feel.
Can't wait for my new Big Radoius pipes and most of all next spring!!!!

The grin comes as standard equipment on a Big Dog! Keep on grinning! :D

Congradulations,

BTW, I am torn between a K-9 and Ridgeback. I turned 50 this year. Based on your experience, in your opinion, should I just go for the Ridgeback?

kmalysa, Congrats on your new bike.

Ridgebacks are nice, but I turn 50 next year and you can't beat a K-9 Softail ride.
Your back will "thank you".:2thumbs:

Never rode the K9 or the Ridgback. I was attracted most to the Ridgeback, but couldn't pass up the deal on this Pitbull.

Thanks, for all the replies... I have been reading many of the threads, looks like a GREAT community here!

Several friends... though I was crazy, they ask why would you want a bike like this? I tell them if you have to ask, you won't understand!

Give 'em both a test ride and then decide for yourself. I'm 48 riding an 04 Ridgeback. IMO...on smooth, to fairly smooth roads, you won't even know it's a hardtail:2thumbs: On backwoods, country, tar and gravel, single lanes, you better wear a mouthpiece and a kidney belt! . . . nah, it's not that bad. Ride 'em both and pick one . . . or one of each!!!:D

If that was his intro or close to it Thats the best one Ive seed in a long time
I dont reely think theres anybody that dont get the Grin everytime they ride but there is one thing better than ridin the Normal Dawg as I`m sure a few of us on here will agree with me on and thats the Ride with a Karata Drive and a hot set of pipes the rush rolling down the road it compares to nuthin else Ive ever rode
