Making a K9 a Rigid?

Good idea or Bad idea?

I really like the look of the rigids - keeping that rear fender mere millimeters off the tire.

What would be required to make this modification? Besides comfort lost w/ rigid, what other downsides would be expected?

could you not replace the shocks with a couple of steel bars? pure guess.

If its the close fender look you're after you could try and mount the fender to the swing arm.

get an air ride. When mine is slammed it's even closer to the tire than the ridgeback, but I can air it up and float down the highway.

I would have to agree with this rider. You already have the best bike BD makes why turn it into a rigid? I have a Pitbull (rigid) and i want to buy a K9.
I don't like the ride of a rigid.

The fender is shaped alot different than that of the Ridgeback so it won't look the same, but close. I would say go the air ride route. I have also heard of guys riding their bikes with hardly no air in them.

Adjust it where you want that way.

I've ridden mine with no or next to no air in it - absolutely horrendous.

:loony: If you were in the east coast I would do an even trade for my ridgeback.:loony: I looking to add springs or mini shocks like the new pitbull to my bike.

Sounds like Air Ride is the way to go. Thanks everyone.

Pricing it out looks like it'll cost me around $1500 for parts and who knows for labor.

Thanks again.

You may be able to pick up an air ride off of ebay...shovelheadkicker often has them for sale and can save you some bucks. I think I paid like $400.00-$450.00 for mine from him and I love it!

Chandler Orignials bike builder was the first place I seen those shirts. A dealer in town here about 3 years ago had them. They have since then changed it to "Nice swingarm sissy!" (Must have gotten complaints)

Pussies!!!!:D
