Some use pieces of dowel I used small plastic tips I bought from amazon I forget the name of the, here's a tip wash the motor(motor only) when cold with aluminum wheel cleaner, soap and water the dry really good and polishing is much quicker and easier, the aluminum wheel cleaner cleans the pores of the aluminum makeing polishing a breeze

How did you get the fins on the jugs so shiney?

When I did the rebuild I sent the motor out and had it professionally polished. I then sent it out and had it diamond cut.
I use felt bobs and a dreamel in between the fins.
I know some swear by mothers billet and it is good stuff. However once you use Adams polishes #1 &2 mothers is just good

Seems like there is no better shine than chrome shine.
Polish my Dog with red / white (rot weiss) products and think they are very good.
Dont know better ones here in Germany. - What will be the best product for Alu and chrome polish in USA, in sight of
time, ellbow and effect? Would be a contest of the best products a good Idea for 10 Years gathering?
Make polish work two times in one year - before first ride and behind last ride of the year.
In Moment have to fight with electronic - hope tomorrow this work will be done, Then change liguids and filter - wash and polish - first of april start season with bike riding.
June come to gathering - can bring the products i use to there - maybe we can see whats the best product.
If I can save ellbow power and time with the same or better effect, I am very Interested.
Maybe a good Idea?

Cool idea, Hans. I, myself and I'm sure a lot of others here, are always open to new ideas and products to keep our rides looking their best with the least labor intensive tricks

real good chrome on alu here is complicated, for good chrome on alu Germany is to green.
steel is possible.
So polish will be my choice.
The best choice in sight of ellbow, Time and shine should be the target.
