MAGNACOR Spark Plug Wires

Mad Dog

ValueTeck Enterprises
Sutton/Proflyer suggested I take a look at these wires.
This is something I know you guys replace from time to time.
I spoke with Steve from Magnacor this morning and it seems like a real stand up company.
Check them out at this link and let me know what interest there is.
MAGNECOR Race Wires: WELCOME TO MAGNECOR!
Steve is sending me a dealer packet in a day or so and I will be able to put some numbers together.
Thanks,
Don

Damn! :bang:

Just ordered a set of Twisted Plug Wires on Friday morning to try, if they don't work as its been 50/50 for everyone here I'll order a set of these if you can get something 8.5-10mm

Would be good to get them to make up 10mm plug wires for the dogs with 90 degree boots in different colors

I would send those twisted wires back!! When I called the guy at twisted and inquired about the EMI degrading and some guys having issues he said he'd call me back. I called back the next day and he said "I didn't get a solid answer, I'm not sure, I'll honor a refund if you have issues but won't refund shipping etc." so I said screw that, and off I went to find real EMI suppressed wires. The twisted are the same as the ultimas, just with a neat sticker.

Steve at Magnecor explains everything you'd ever want to know about EMI wires on his website. The problem is the EMI degrades over time in twised type wires...and can slowly start causing the electrical problems many of us have found ourselves chasing for years. We very specifically need totally suppressed wires. Also, there's a lot of BS on the net about low resistance etc wires. I can't explain exactly what he told me, but basically the resistance has nothing to do with getting spark from coil to plug and people have just bought onto this B.S. over the years. His wires are built as a solid core where the suppression is forged as the core is built, not twisted around it.

I got the 2902 wires which are 10mm and all red. The 8.5 and 10mm are the same core, 10mm are just fatter and I think look cooler. I don't think he'll do them in different colors, but who cares, if you're runnin red wires you're runnin the best.

I put mine on this weekend and the odd miss I kept 'feeling' as I was cruising along has totally gone away. I had this odd miss here and there, nothing I could track down, but I could feel it now and then. Also, my tach seems more smooth where before it seemed to quickly blink as it displayed the revs.

The bike runs great and my plugs did look cleaner like it was getting a more consistent burn. It doesn't feel any faster, but more like I'm getting a good hot spark each time and not getting an odd miss or a half spark here and there.

Get a set!

I wouldn't even mess with the twisted ones. Just send em right back.

I'm not sure what he can get them for but I paid full retail which is 48 plus another 8 to ship. Total was 56 or so shipped. They're not cheap as some but then they're also less than those twisted ones.

If you can't tell by now that guy at twisted jerked my chain enough that I took it upon myself to show Don these wires for all of us.

Love my 12mm Twisted wires, they perform well and look bad-ass. First set of wires I've ever had that people comment on( car or bike )

Sutton,

I agree about the twisted wires, total junk..didn't work on my bike but apparently they work on some. They made my TACH go crazy, had to put the Accel wires back on. The Ebay seller for Twisted wires also has terrible customer service, I have sent multiple email and NO reply...

I actually called Magnecor today...he said he must know the coil type, single or dual fire, apparently the wires are different for each. He said to look inside the coil connection, if there is NOT a little nipple/stud whatever, I think he considered that coil a single fire, I may have this backwards just don't remember. He said the Red 90 degree boots are available with the 10mm red wires, he priced me at 48.00 per set. May order a set tomorrow, he talked like the group buy wouldn't be much cheaper.

I would be interested as well if they were cut to length for the dog. 12" with 90` both ends I think

Would be curious to have more details on why wires need to be different for single or dual fire?

Todd,

He said he could do 90 degree boots on both ends, the length, he said for our bikes is 11"

Just order the #2902. Those are the 10mm and mine came withe red boots on both ends. Our coils have the female connection where some coils have a connection that looks like the end of a spark plug kinda. I think they're 11" long but they're the same length as the accel wires I took off so they fit just fine. I'll go snap a pic when I get her back out in the sun.

We have the same setup as an FXR harley basically with an evo motor. Oh I paid 48 plus shipping, seemed to be priced in the middle of plug wires with those twisteds being at the top.

I'm glad some of you guys haven't had issues with the twisteds, I'd love to have an orange/black set!
