I will be doing the M-Unit install very soon. Anyone with insight in to the electrical system on our bike is encouraged to provide input. The major ares I may need help in are relays and such. The brake / turn signal thing appears to be my biggest concern. I intend on writing up a procedure or at least some installation notes with lessons learned. I managed a WP installation in 2010...but had very good how to instructions from Jake...(Thanks dude!)
Contribute as you can and I hope the end result is a simple conversion to a cheaper, more reliable system for our pets!

Hey there G-Dog and others. I've been too busy riding the piss out of my dog to get on and write anything!! Love that friggin thing!
VERY Basic Instructions:
Follow the Wireplus directions as far as bundling the grounds in some way and getting all the separate circuits identified. From there it's actually pretty simple. The stop/run wire (both wires get tied together just like WP) goes to the "Config" port. That gives you stop/run functions as well as a button to use when programming the unit. "Aux" handles the ignition and running lights, although with mine I tied the lights directly to the key. I liked the idea of less current running through the M whenever possible.
The blinker/brake circuit is the tricky one. Use the diode diagram in the other M-unit post to separate the front and rear blinker circuits (so the fronts dont light when you hit the brake). Use the "Hoppy" trailer light converter to spearate the brake circuit from the blinkers.

The starter circuit. I used the starter relay from my toasty wireplus and wired that to the M start output. That way the relay takes all the load for the stater solenoid and the M has plenty of oomph for the comp releases. I was debating wiring it all up together but didn't want to push the M too hard. Works a charm....
