I used terminal boards to bridge my connections, mounted unit to a metal plate and then ran separate grounding cables from both ground points to a single ring terminal. I need to do a +12Vdc strip...just no room

Hey Brew! The end result was me being kinda pissed and dissapointed. The Spiegler guys talked to the German who created the M. Basically, if it faults you're screwed. No way to diagnose what caused it and no way to determine if it was a faulty M or a faulty bike. I must have called about 10 times and always got the same response - owner is out of town, he will call when he gets back in. Then I got an email telling me the owner was back and I should call him. Tried once, he wasn't available and that's when I washed my hands of it. I really felt like they owed me the courtesy of a phone call...not an email telling me to call them...
I got up and running by using bits and pieces of my Wireplus along with some relays. Then winter hit...

Thanks for the update! I think I'll stay with the wireplus. Again, thanks for the update and glad that you got the scoot going even though you had to bits and piece it back together...:2thumbs:

Sorry for the delay, been on vacation! I wouldn't say dont use it, but I dont want to recommend it either knowing there is little to no support. That said, if you buy a WP and it fries they are likely to say just about the same...at least they did to me.
I loved the features the M had and all things considered its pretty cheap. I may try again next season... Look forward to hearing others experiences and hoping mine was a fluke.

Those of you who have installed this Unit... Could you share your experiences?
For me being in Europe and this thing being made in Germany... could be a very good option when the time comes... and I like the fact that it has an alarm! :up:
BTW.... I am still running the original EHC with no problems whatsoever.. (and I have a spare one (EHC) in the shelf just in case) :up: Now.... I am touching wood.... maybe I should have kept quiet!!!

M-Unit update
Unit works great with the exception of one circuit draws too much current and forces a shut down. I will track this down and report as I do not think it is an M issue. It trips an internal circuit breaker and then resets. More to follow.

I mounted my unit to the back fender and ran 2 separate ground leads vs mounting to the battery box. I also still have the stock BDM circuit breaker inthe mix.

I would replace that circuit breaker with a fuse.
Those circuit breakers have been known to fail. Especially the self-resetting ones. When your voltage regulator fails (notice I didn’t say “if”) there is nothing to let us know that the circuit breaker has activated (opened). When the circuit breaker resets (after it cools off a little) it will soon activate again. It will continue this cycle until it fails, if it fails closed it will fry any electronic brain that has been put on our scooters so far.
I like the two ground wires, twice the connections is better.

No, not yet. Bike is with me here in Va. and I only get seat time on certain weekends. Was out 3 hours on Sunday and no issues at all so I am looking at an intermittent problem / heat issue. Much cooler here than back in SC. Stay tuned!
