Lucas oil treatment

Ok, we have discussed in the past, Lucas fuel treatment. Today I tried there oil treatment. On the bottle it says that it is for motorcycles. With a wet clutch you should use only 10% Lucas/90% engine oil mixture. With a clutch seperate from the engine like our Big Dog's one should use a 20%/80% mixture of the treatment and your engine oil. It also states that it is 100% compatible with full synthitc oil as well. It also states that it works in your primary as well as transmissons. ( not sure yet on that one). It didn't state this in the data sheet on the link but it DID state this clearly on the bottle itself. Check out the link to this product. The key benefits are pretty important from what I see. Now that said, I used about 2 ounces added to my exsisting 3 quarts of Mobil 1 in my engine. I didn't want to overfill my oil tank and I wanted to be careful about adding too much at first. I'm thinking that those 2 ounces made a pretty big difference right from the start. I guess I may be the " guinie pig"on this but somebody had to do it so why not me?

Lucas Oil

The intial results were, the "normal metallic" valve noise has quieted down about 80%. The engine didn't seem to get quite as hot ideling on a hot day like today as it did before.
Now I would never use a supplement in my engine but Lucas's reputation with NHRA / NASCAR and so many other forms of pro racing is undisputed and it is actually used by these teams. So I figured, why not? So far it seems I may have done a good thing for my engine. I suppose we will see. Time will be the test for sure.
This is right from there website.....
Lucas has long been directly involved in the American racing industry through multiple vehicle sponsorships and racing event promotions, at all levels. Seeing a need for better lubricants in this industry, the Lucas people went to work again. The end result being a line of high performance engine oils and gear oils that are second-to-none in the racing industry. Lucas racing products have proven themselves on NASCAR, NHRA, IHRA, USHRA and ATPA tracks across the country.

My local shop tech that told me to get rid of the Redline and stick with Amsoil runs Lucas in ALL of his own shit and has been for a long time. I have ran Lucas in the rearend of my Rods, cars and trucks for many years, and as a supplement to the engine oil and power steering for good many as well. I have been kicking around using it with my Royal Purple engine oil as a supplement just with the heat benefits.

Keep us informed on if the valve train noise stays down after some miles are on it.

Jake, I have 11,600 miles on my bike. I thought that since it is wellpast the breakin point that this might be a good move. I don't think anyone should use it before there bike gets past the intial break in due to allowing the rings to seat. But after that, it may be a good thing. I'll keep any changes good or bad posted. It's done now so I suppose we'll see.

I'm running Lucas 20/50 in my dogs motor, never thought of using the oil additive since I'm using Lucas oil but I have always liked their products. Some thing to think about!

I've used the product in several vehicles.(not my bike yet) and it does quiet down some of the noise. Hell forced a 2oz shot down my whiney girlfriend and even she got quiet:D

I have not used it in a bike but I have used it in my older knock around truck and have seen a difference. Seems to run a little smoother and it was using a little oil before but now the oil consumption is less.

Lucas makes great products and I've heard a lot of good things about them, I'm sure it would not hurt a thing. Keep us posted on your results.

Most major oil manufacturers state to NOT use additional additives, particularly with engine oils. I take them at their word, especially since I'm already using a group 4 synthetic (Amsoil) in the engine. Maybe if you were using some cheap oil that uses an inferior base stock would it make some sense.
