Question: I want to lower my 04 BD chopper, Ive read I can only get about 3/4" by adjusting shocks. Does anyone know a way to loose more? 2" or so.

-Also has anyone on here ever tried to mount fender to rear swing arm instead of frame? Trying to get that ridged look without totally loosing my rear ride.
Cheers !

Why? ^Your BD Chopper, is one the finest riding bikes in that style, that you can find. Lowering it will mess up how it rides. Not to mention, you will be dragging the primary every time you turn.

Thanks for the response. I just dont like how high the rear fender looks that high off the tire. If I could at least cut the distance in half I would be happy with it.

It's going to be real hard getting the Ridged frame look with a softtail. If you start bottoming out you will destroy you harness going to the rear lights

I have progressive 422s on my 2004 chopper. I can slam it if i want. BUT thats not going ride worth a shit.. haha

I have mine all the way back up but it rides GREAT with the new shocks. and its adjustable.

I put a set of adjustable softail shocks on in 08, I drug everything and it rode like shit. Too soft or too low... Went back to the stock non adjustable's set for two up, it's like a ridged when riding one up but what ever.:2thumbs:

Shit my 03 scraps on the slightest turn no way I'd lower it. But if all you do is ride a straight line I guess you'd be alright. Just my opinion.

YEs with mine slammed I don't think it would fall all the way over? haha would sit on the Primary i think. let alone it would be impossable to cross gas station entry's, or driveways, or speed bumps. looks cool but rides like shit.

With the adjustables on it, and right height up i can adjust for solo or 2 up. I love the way it rides now

What about rising the front? 12" over tubes would change the look... No idea how much it would fuck the ride though. Anybody tried that?

Adropedro, I agree with you on the fender/tire relationship. I always said it looked like a dirtbike (no offense, pls dont attack me :D). I felt aesthetics were more important than comfort. Yes, Ive paid the price for that decision many times, but I still wouldnt give up my hardtail.

when sitting on mine it looks WAY better then it sitting on the kick stand.

the fender does not have much gap at all, kinda puzzled how its rides so good with the way it sits with me on it.
