lowering a mastiff

i have been toying with the idea of lowering the front of my 04 mastiff.i have air ride in the rear.whats the best way?shorter tubes or cutting springs?i only what to go about 1 1/2 inches or so.thanks for any advise:cheers:

I don't have the answer for you, but I would just be worried about trail numbers by changing the geometry of the suspension...especially the front suspension. I'm sure lowering it wouldn't effect it like raking the neck, but still it would be a concern of mine.

Just be careful.

Shorter tubes and springs would be ideal. If you only go with shorter springs, you'll bottom out with that much drop unless you go to a higher spring rate. That's quite a drop your talking about. Are you sure you need that much?

just thinking about it for the most part,i liked the looks when it was tied down on a flat bed.im dont think it would affect the trail since i would be dropping the rear also with the air ride,thanks for the replies guys:cheers:
 
Its not a big deal to drop the front end an inch or so with some progressive springs. The challenge will be to match up your current spring and determine where to go from there. Most aftermarket spring mfg. use the stock configuration to determine the new size needed. I have lowered the front ends of the last 3 of my harley's using the progressive spring kits or sometimes race tech. I would call them up.
