Hey trying to pull my front tire off to have the new shinko put on. I borrowed a motorcycle jack but cant get it under bike. Is there a trick im missing or do we need a special low profile jack for our bikes? Using an ac delco jack. Lowest it will go and will barely slip under but not all the way through. I ha e it posistion as far to front as I can and still be on frame. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Back the back tire up on a piece of 2x6 2x8 or 2x10, you only need to lift it a little, be careful and hold the bike straight up while ya roll the jack under

If everything was easy we would all be rich.

Allen head on the bolt snapped on your fork pinch bolts? Or the Allen is just broke? If the wrench just broke and not the bolt just use a magnet.

Bolt breaking will suck have to drill it or use an ez out but they are grade 8 so good luck

The allen wrench snapped. Bolt is fine but it looked like it was a little messed up maybe from previous person taking it off. The tip is stuck in there pretty good. Ill mess with it and see what i can do. Sprayed some wd on it for now..hopefully I can wiggle it loose somehow

Ill see if I have a punch to fit thanks. It looks like it started to slip when it broke so its dug in a little bit. Easy job gone bad

That looks familiar Eric. I went out a couple of days ago to clean up after our ride to Jefferson and found one of my strut bolts missing. Not broken off thank God. So I figured I would take one from the other side of the bike to the hardware store as an example. Guess what? F-ing snapped off! :oldbang: Not sure for how long, but I've been riding with only the front two bolts holding the rear fender on!! :oldswear: Gonna try to drill it and hit it with the EZ Out.

Tyler - Stay with it Bro! You will conquer!!!

Quick question, since I got the left axle bolt out, will the axle tap out to the right? If I can get it out Ill just look into another axle or deal sith it off bike..

I remember on the ride one was gone!

Good luck might want to try drilling with a good left hand bit first but you are going to want to apply a good amount heat first as there should be blue loctite.

I also have a bag of the 3/8 lock washers next time I'll give you 4 they are supposed to help keep them torqued. I'm curious to see how well it works.

No those bolts are pinch bolts even if you got the axle out you couldn't get another in there anyways.
