Prolly just non-dot novelty helmets.

I only have 1 non-dot and it's a Biltwell old school helmet.

I agree. I bought a non dot helmet at one of the Motorcycle show. They keep the bugs off your head and keeps your hair looking great!! Not sure how much help it would be if you went down though.

Finding a low profile dot helmet is like finding the Holy Grail...probably not going to happen. I know a lot of dawgs on here I have been searching for a while. I bought an old open face metal flake helmet that's a little small. I may do what someone else did on here and scrape some of the foam out of it and in the end I will have a low profile helmet that looks good, but ultimately will sacrifice some safety. Good luck!

I've heard the Datona hawk, and skullcap are decent. I'm probably going to try one of those next, but not sure which. I'd love to go non-dot, but don't want to give anyone another reason to pull me over.

HeadTrip Helmets Universal Use by Composite Craft

Just a little background on these guys. They used to make D.O.T as well and there was some type of lawsuit from one of the former partners. I believe as part of the deal they were not allowed to sell anymore D.O.T helmets. Now this shorty helmet is the same exact process that all the D.O.T Kevlar helmets used to be. The only thing that makes If dif is the amount of foam padding inside the helmet. Process, materials, etc is all the same minus the extra padding required and the D.O.T approval. Before all this stuff came about they used to have tons of testimonials on the website from bikers who were wearing the non D.O.T helmets who went down and it saved them. They would include pictures of the helmets all banged up they really have saved many. These guys are located here in Orlando and I have been to their plant where they make them. Super cool people and I love mine. It won't do if you live in a state where Helmets are required, but this is the smallest helmet around that will actually protect your melon. You can see the price reflects this. It's not just some novelty helmet for $20. For whatever it's worth. Just wanted to pass it along.

Moedog, I've never seen them at bike week. They have a small store front at the warehouse. They do have a great return policy, so if you measure and it doesn't fit just right they will take it back and send the right size no problem. :2thumbs:

Used to be around not sure what happened to them: www.carbonfiberhelmets.com just wish I would have ordered 2. The way I look at it if you are wearing a half you are not really concerned about the protection anyway buy an non dot and put a DOT sticker on it if you are worried about johnny law.

Check out this helmet, a dot low profile helmet marketed directly to people who hate bubble head looking half shell helmets. I've owned one for over a year, no complaints. The price is great too, $60.00. They have a video on the website of this helmet, the link is:

helmet vendor link here:
Harley Davidson Motorcycle helmets and Motorcycle helmet - Iron Horse Helmets

Video link here:
DOT Explorer MOTORCYCLE HELMET VIDEO | Explorer BIKER HELMET | Explorer SHORTY HELMETS
In the video he never puts on the helmet so I can't get a feel for its mushroom-ness as I call it. So you think this helemt is fairly low profile for a DOT lid? Does the visor catch the air and cause the helmet to pull back on your head?
