Low oil light

I have a 09 Mastiff and for some reason the oil light seems to want to flicker on at an idle. The oil sensor was replaced under the warranty and the wiring has also been checked the screens in the housing have been cleaned. We have set the idle up. I was on the highway coming back from the Big Dog factory which by the way it did not come on while there, on the highway as long as you had the throttle open the light stayed off but if you backed out of the throttle even at 80 miles an hour with engine rpms at about 3 grand the oil light would come on. I got off the highway shut it down checked the oil it was full. restarted the bike and the light was gone got to the shop and it was back to the flickering on and off. I have heard of another person who has a Mastiff in the Kansas City area who is having a oil light problem.
Any thoughts on this would be a big help since I've run out of ideas

Does the light flicker when you go over a bump? If so you have a grounded wire. I had it happen on my Chopper and it turned out to be a rubbed wire under the tank.
Put a gauge on it to verify you have oil pressure.

Many threads here on this subject.

The light stays off on bumpy roads and it stays off on twisty roads. It stays off until you have ridden for a while. Then at every stoplight it starts to flicker if you open the throttle it goes off. The strange part is if you set the idle up it's like it adjusts to that and once you come to a stop it flickers. On the highway when you let off the throttle it was on solid till I turned the engine off and restarted it. Its done this since it left factory. I even got the bike shop I take it to a new laptop to download the file out of the bike to the factory. I think the only choice may be to put on a guage and let it go.

I'd make em find the problem.. do you have a gauge on when it does it??does it have pressure? I'd want to see how much damage has been done if the oil pressure is low or none.. does it rattleor make any noise when the light comes on?? it might be just a electrical issue..

Put a oil pressure gauge on that dog rite away. You need to make sure you have oil pressure when bike gets hot it sounds like the lite is doing its job.it works on a simple ground circuit.Pressure enters the switch, switch closes and grounds signal wire to lite. That is the only way to tell if you have an engine problem or electrical issue.don't take it for granted damage could be happening in that motor.

I have had the bike serviced twice now and have over 4000 miles it has been back to the factory once so I'm pretty sure it has oil pressure. And even better it still has the warranty. Brian and the guys down there are aware there may be a problem.

Get them to fix the issue. Warranties don't last forever.

Definitely sounds like an oil pressure issue. When cold, pressure is good. Once hot, the oil is somewhat thinner and only when rpms are high does the light shut off. Well, the rpms are increasing the pressure to an acceptable level. A hot motor and low rpms? Sounds like a bad seal or pump. What did the download determine? I'm with the rest of gang here. Put a pressure guage on that dog and see what it reads when hot at idle.

be careful want you do to it, if it is still under warranty. Do not give them a reason to void your warranty. If it was mine I would MAKE THE DEALER FIX IT.

The Dealer is the factory where they make the bikes. It makes it nice to live just a couple hours away. I've got an oil pressure gauge and will be throwing it on before I ride. I've be calling down to Wichita and as soon as I find out what's going on I'll post it. Maybe it will save someone the headaches

Have Bigdog change the oil. Mine does that when the oil gets hot and thins out. Get an oil cooler if you don't already have one.
