Low Beam

I only had the hi beam after riding on Saturday which I thought the low beam just burned out. I replaced the bulb with a Sylvania Silverstar 9003 ST today and it worked fine for about twenty miles and again I only have hi beam. Any ideaers? :bang:

Sounds like a open somewhere on the yellow line to the EHC. The EHC thinks there is a open in the bulb and is cutting over to the Hi-beam like it should. Not critical--if still covered recommend having your dealer find the fault.

If that bulb draws any different amperage than the stock bulb, the EHC will "think" there is a problem and switch it to the other beam.

Sucks!

Just took another ride and I had low beam when I first started it then it would kick to hi. After riding a lil more I could knock it back down but then it would switch to hi on it's own. After a couple more miles I could not get it to knock down from the hi beam.

Ok Chacha you are the man! I was ready to succumb to the local dealer due to running out of options. I took one last stab at finding the problem. So I took the headlight assembly apart and started snooping and I paid close attention to the yellow wire as reccommended by Chacha and sure as shit the casing was rubbed through on the inside of the headlight bucket which had the wires exposed and was grounding out on the bucket. This forum is absolutely amazing. I just wish this would have posted on the home page so others could have followed the thread. Thanks for all your input and a big two thumbs up for Chacha!
