I think I at least temporarily but we shall see, solved my no low beam headlight issue on my 04 ridgeback. I traced the yellow wire to where it landed on the harness connector and could see that the connection had been arcing as the pin and socket were black. I cleaned both as best I could, tweeked the pin a little off center and cut a small piece of sranded wire and stuffed it into the socket. So far after two days of riding it has not failed yet. We shall see.

TRUE COLORS COLLISION
I used a paper clip for 1/2 the summer one time where my pin completely dissinegrated due to corrosion.

The problem did not stem from corrosion rather the pin arcing to the socket. Poor design to run that much amperage through a small pin and socket. In consulting my brother who has been a design engineer with Garmin for 15 years about this issue I would also conclude that adding any more resistance to some of the very low voltage circut connections in that plug could cause other problems.
