Love my BDM Chopper

I read thread about My bike breaks all the time, or S&S sucks. Or my bike is broke again. I purchased my 2003 bike in mid Aug right after coming back from Sturgis. I was looking at selling my 1997 Lowrider and getting a soft tail custom. At Renegade HD I saw the most beautiful bike I had ever seen. I purchased it right there and have loved the bike ever since. It has been extremely reliable and up keep has taught me a lot. Best thing I ever bought

Jonathan,

It's good to see some positive feedback about our bikes. As stated in another thread...

we always, 90% of the time, use the forum to talk/discuss about problems with our bikes which it is all good as we help each other, but it gives a wrong impression to others about BDMs.

I had my K9 for a year now with NIL problems, only had to change it's old HD Battery which came with from the US.

RIDE ON! :2thumbs:

This is the second thread this weekend that will become my favorites this month.

For the most part these are some damn fine motorcycles built with the best parts and put together by a world class group of the finest people on the planet, with looks and performance second to none.

I researched the heck out of all the custom type production bikes at the time and have wanted a long n low motorcycle since the 60's. Picked this up in 2006, at market pricing and still have no regrets, including paying what I did. Problems so far? None to speak of. Lets see, 3rd battery and one Stator. Original tires lasted more than 20,000 miles, I will ride to Idaho for lunch (round trip is 700 miles with some extra riding in the area. No worse than many others. Maintenance wise, my mastiff needs no more and no less than my HD, the Buell and yes I have a Yamaha, a Honda, and building a Zuki big block for go fast times. They all require just about the same maintenance and all are reliable

The other positive thread is the one tossed up by Choppergirl with questions about her issue: http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/help-wanted/37729-not-charging.html

She explains the issue, what she has done the results and does so without the whining, complaining and what not that is so prevalent with some lately. Then, She did not have the correct tools, went out and got them and again posted up the results, still without bad mouthing BDM's decisions on this that and the other. Exactly the kind of "help wanted" we all want to read, respond to and help with.

These are both the types of positive threads and the people that make this forum one of the best on the "Net".:2thumbs:

:2thumbs:I love my Ridgeback also. I agree with Knotso. Choppergirl has the right attitude and I have no doubt that she will figure out and correct her problem. There is not one bike I have ever owned without it's issues which I corrected and was totally happy.

What's nice about fixing your bike is you learn about it and never what to part with it.:whoop:

I totally agree, with my BDM I have riden it so much I can tell when there is a hiccup. I am heading to Sturgis next week and as always riding the dog! It has been a great low maintenance bike. You just have to remember preventive maintenance! You do it with cars and trucks, bikes are no different! But by far this is the Greatest bike I have ever owned!!!

Me too, even with all my Back issues of late and the HD is getting more attention, I love my Dog!!!!:2thumbs:

I love my Ridgeback!
I bought her new in 2006 and have never once thought about selling her! With the help of this forum and its members I have learned so much about BigDogs that I just couldnt settle for any other bike. My girl still turns heads wherever i go and does not look six years old.

It's good to see some owners talk about how much they love their bikes for once:2thumbs:

I too love my 2006 - K9, having over 36000 miles. It is one of the best riding and most enjoyable cycle I have ever owned.
