Lost part...no tach.. wil it end ....

lost my sissy bar pad and bracket while riding on Sunday and there is no way I'm paying $250 for a little pad. That's just outrageous, but it is a big dog so everything is expensive. With that said, is there any alternative for a pad and bracket or am I making it myself? But on to the more important issue, installed DOCs ESC and bike is running 100%! I washed it trying not to spray water on anything electrical. Dry it off and turn key on, no tach or indicator lights! I guess water must have got in. It's a Dakota digital and speed and odometer work fine. Anyone have that happen to them?

As for the pad, I did when I last ran a BD sissy bar make one my self that was a better design (needed a better upholster than me) va the original design. I took a board and trimmed it to the width and shape of the sissy bar plus about 1/8in on each side.
Along the sides I screwed in aluminum angles the length of the sides.
Put the layers of fabric on it that would make the sides and back and marked the holes for the back plate.
I drilled the holes and used t-nuts that would eventually hold the pad to the bar.
I then covered it with foam and a fabric material I found at walmart that was nylon or vinyl on the inside (so pad wouldn't soak up water easily).
This pad had the advantage of not slipping down the sissy bar as BDM pads like to do.

I had done this since the pad from BDM had the backing in the pad crack and the thing wouldn't stay in place. I still have what's left of pad, the one I created that should be upholster by pro and the back plate and be willing to entertain offers for same. Back plate is not perfect there is some chrome damage -- can send pics if you are interested at all.
