Good, you got all the other parts too, right?I just ordered all of it, no reason to wonder over 40 bucks. Thanks again!

Is that a paper gasket or rubber? The silicon is used with the paper/cardboard gasketThat was before the change to the square type gasket that curtis stocks now. You can tell it's a bit thicker as the cover sits off the inner a few thousandths. No need for the silicon he said, plus it makes a mess.

Sure did! I did try that gasket to. As odd as it sounds its soaked up all the fluid like a sponge and drooled out the bottom. I did torque it to 80 inch pounds per Curtis.Good, you got all the other parts too, right?
The gasket is rubber. Looks the same as the one that goes around the outter primary cover. It looks like a huge o-ring basically but its square not round like a traditional o-ring. I think you're talking about the fiber material flat gasket that you can use for the inspection cover. When I did mine a few months back I got a new outter cover gasket and a new inspection cover gasket. Both the same square rubber material that fits in the grooves on both parts. Getting it in the groove at first is a pain in the ass, but once it's set it's solid and seals perfectly.Sure did! I did try that gasket to. Thanks, if anything I'll learn on the way. I appreciate all the help from everybody. Strange thing is it was shifting fine until I tried to adjust the rod to get rid of the creep. I have to admit I may have had a few beers so combine that with me expert background on BDM's (Kidding of course) I turned it out rather than in. After than I attempted to test drive it, rolled out of the driveway and realized I had no clutch so I rolled it back in the garage. With what I think I know none of that makes sense but that's how it happened none the less. Either way the clutch has been driving me nuts, when I bought the back the back tire was 12 years old, it would do a nice fish tailing burnout (Tire was hard). Put new tires on it and the belt was jumping from the new soft tire and the incorrect belt tension. Fixed all that and then the creep started. I suppose its time to open it up anyway for my own piece of mind. If I need to replace the whole thing no big deal but I'll at least understand it.I don't know that it is the clutch hub nut, the only reason I say that is because when that comes loose you start slamming gears and that would be pretty noticeable.. I mean it makes sense that it would be that with it creeping, but without the noticeable slamming to find a gear it would make me wonder. But yes they all recommended the right thing. I ordered everything directly from baker (nut, washer, pressure plate and pressure plate for less then 75 bucks shipped to me. As far as the inspection cover gasket, it depends on which style inspection plate u have as to which one to use.. good luck brother
I use this and it works unbelievably well, be sure to get the non-synthetic!I have mine backed off less, 1/16 turn but I have the 12 disc with the soft pull ramp which was intended for the 9 disc clutch. Do you know what primary oil is in there? I run regular hardly primary oil in mine.
Well it looks ok but I still ordered that new one just to be safe.Wait your rod has a flat tip? Should be rounded.
Looks good, I just had mine out and it looked the same, but better safe than sorry.Well it looks ok but I still ordered that new one just to be safe.
That's the stuff and made in the USA. How often can you say an oil is made in the USA?I use this and it works unbelievably well, be sure to get the non-synthetic!![]()
Yep, I've used TrickShift for years now. Cheap and works great. The ONLY purpose of anything in the primary is to lube the chain. That clutch can run dry or wet. That's the stuff and made in the USA. How often can you say an oil is made in the USA?
Tip...You can get it for around $5 on Amazon

Cool really appreciate the offerl, I think I'll just buy a new complete billet one. I like to beat on it a bit. Recommendations?Well looks like ya need a new carrier, $395 I have a back plate I will sell ya if interested pm me. Or you can get the new one which is billet, here's the difference between the 2. Make sure the carrier bearing hub is ok if your not going to buy a complete new one. It looks like ya need the new updated pressure plate also, its hard coated and a greenish color.

You can get it from Bakerdrivetrain, they have it listed under "support" then Big Dog down the left columnCool really appreciate the offerl, I think I'll just buy a new complete billet one. I like to beat on a bit. Recommendations?
Well the good news is the clutch hub nut was loose! But, for a reason... Funny thing is for awhile it sounded like my chain was slapping inside my primary but just a guess with my lack of experience. None the less I discovered my 2 piece basket! So, no big deal I hope. Looks ok inside the primary, some grind but not into the bolts. Of course opinions appreciated. I'd just assume buy something that's not prone to this, I see on the forum the Bandit Bruiser seems to be popular. I see stuff on Wild Steed, not sure who makes it.
