Loss of suspension?

While cleaning the bike today, I noticed a gouge on the top of each swing arm, near the fender. These marks have not been there in the past. I have never noticed a change in ride quality; therefore I am puzzled at what caused this. I suppose it is the suspension. I am surprised there is not some sort of stop in place to prevent this from happening. Does anyone have any clues where to start investigating?

I don't recall seeing it. How about a pic?

I do believe they are adjustable...

Happened to me when I put adjustable softail shocks on mine and lowered it. They were too soft…:bang:

Stop on the prostreets are down at the bottom of the frame/swing arm. Like Marv said, take a look, had to replace mine once -- just one bolt, but a bitch to get to.

Make sure the shocks are adjusted evenly, mine wern't. However if you hit a pot hole or a man hole cover 3" deep it ain't gonna matter. BAM avoid the holes and don't go over any speed bumps faster than 30mph.:D

Marv is right with the location...
I gouged my swing arm when the Air suspension had an issue and i had to ride 100 miles on the stops.. "temporary ridged" if i remember right the gouges were from the fender strut bolts sticking out the inside of the frame..

Sent you a pm, was wondering about the problem you had with your air ride. Mine is leaking down and I am trying to get a direction to fix.
