Loose rear turn signal

Energy One

The housing is loose at the base. I have not tried to take it apart yet because to remove the mount it looks like the fender or strut will need to come off. Is this a problem? Can I reach it from the inside?

slip a wrench inside the fender
My question is about the two pieces that comprise the turn signal itself.
It is apparently two piece?
I was wondering if the looseness between the two pieces could be corrected without taking it completely off?
Thanks...

As Marv said....slip a wrench inside the fender and tighten it up....I had the same issue with mine....it worked it self loose again and I actually had to place a rubber gasket between the shoe and bucket for it not to be loose....time to time I would have to re-tighten it because it wouldn't stay tight....I finally ordered a couple new ones from Big Dog (1-piece unit) for about $21 each

So the bolt goes all the way through?

The bolt goes in from the fender...threads into the light housing.
I can tell that, but the part next to the fender is tight against the fender the outside round piece is loose (where the lens goes).
I thought it may have a separate fastener inside.

what dealer do most people use?

No not yet, i thought i would ask here first.
It might be easier to pull it apart.
I will do that tomorrow

If you examine the lens carefully, you'll notice a notch in the lens where it meets the housing. Usually, this is on the bottom and used as a drain hole for any moisture.

Just slip a screwdriver in there and twist and the lens will pop off in you hand.

The bolt on the inside of the fender can be tightened with an open end wrench. Just hold the housing on the outside of the fender at the angle you desire and tighten the nut on the inside of the fender. Simple to do.

no there isn't a seperate fastener inside.....it appears that your inner housing is worn out like what happened to mine.....thats when i had to put a rubber gasket inside the housing to take up the slop....and eventually replaced them with the (1-piece unit)

you can order them from "Drag Specialties"
I got mine from the local "Big Dog" dealer at a cheaper price that "Drag Specialties"
