My question is about the two pieces that comprise the turn signal itself.slip a wrench inside the fender
Bolt back there?pull the lens off by hand then pry out the led and have a look
As Marv said....slip a wrench inside the fender and tighten it up....I had the same issue with mine....it worked it self loose again and I actually had to place a rubber gasket between the shoe and bucket for it not to be loose....time to time I would have to re-tighten it because it wouldn't stay tight....I finally ordered a couple new ones from Big Dog (1-piece unit) for about $21 eachMy question is about the two pieces that comprise the turn signal itself.
It is apparently two piece?
I was wondering if the looseness between the two pieces could be corrected without taking it completely off?
Thanks...
So the bolt goes all the way through? As Marv said....slip a wrench inside the fender and tighten it up....I had the same issue with mine....it worked it self loose again and I actually had to place a rubber gasket between the shoe and bucket for it not to be loose....time to time I would have to re-tighten it because it wouldn't stay tight....I finally ordered a couple new ones from Big Dog (1-piece unit) for about $21 each
I can tell that, but the part next to the fender is tight against the fender the outside round piece is loose (where the lens goes). The bolt goes in from the fender...threads into the light housing.
No not yet, i thought i would ask here first.have you pulled your lens and leds to look?i cant remember but i thought there was a nut on the inside of the housing
yup....bolt goes all the way through....my bolt is hollow, as the wiring runs through it....the lens and led board are easy to pop out if you want to take a l@@ksySo the bolt goes all the way through?
mobsta....is correct, there is the head of the bolt inside the bucket housing...have you pulled your lens and leds to look?i cant remember but i thought there was a nut on the inside of the housing
no there isn't a seperate fastener inside.....it appears that your inner housing is worn out like what happened to mine.....thats when i had to put a rubber gasket inside the housing to take up the slop....and eventually replaced them with the (1-piece unit)I can tell that, but the part next to the fender is tight against the fender the outside round piece is loose (where the lens goes).
I thought it may have a separate fastener inside.
what dealer do most people use?
It's the bike in my sig. 03 chopperok like i said i wasnt sure so i pulled my lens and leds on my o4.there is not a nut on the inside only the bolt from the fender.see i can admit when im wrong:lol:my question is are we taking about a big dog or another scoot?
