Loose As A Goose

Here`s a new one I`ve not heard of yet here on the Forum. I`m installing a new Bandit Bruiser clutch on my K-9. When the time comes to take the chain off I reach for the engine sprocket nut and the damned thing is already loose! Has anyone seen this one? The clutch nut is still tight. WTF?

your a lucky guy that it did'nt fall off and lock up while cruzing. makes me want to pull off my primary cover and check it out.

Yep...there was some time -- may have been '06--where the factory failed to red loctite the compensator nut. Been several posts on this.

Clean up all the threads, add some red loctite, and tighten to spec -- 140-150 lbs I think (don't have the specs in front of me)

When I heard about this type of problem couple/few years back I checked my 08 just to see and it was not loose but it came off with one hand and a 1/2" ratchet with no resistence.

Mine came loose twice. How loose is loose as a goose? My loose as a goose had the compensator nut contact the cover loose. I'd say that is loose as a goose.
