Dead dog and i decided to go and make it rain last Sunday arvo, about a 10 mile run to a little bar a few beers and home.

After we beat the rain to get to the bar, it decided we would stay a while and pissed down.

Now i only have (see had) a right blinker as i have not connected the left one yet due to weird wiring going on, but now after riding in the rain the right one has gone out in sympathy. :bang:

Q. If i disconnect the hand controller and put some dialetic grease on the connections will that fix it or will i have to do open heart surgery on every connection.

Cheers

You can try some grease but take a look at the blinker board itself. Pop the lens off and pull the light assembly out. Mine had corroded and caused it to short out. Hopefully yours is only a connection problem. Good luck ....

Hey Jeff, after riding through that downpour & getting home with all indicators working, I washed the bike today & now the left hand one don't work anymore. Oh well not to worry.

Give it a little bit to dry out and see if it comes back on. I wouldn't add the grease to the connection until it's fully dried out to avoid trapping any moisture in that connection.

If it worked before the downpore then it should come back when it dries out unless you have something going on with the wiring in general. Trace the wires out and see where the short can be.

Dreaded Rain, i rode my Dog from England to Belgium in a torrential downpour 2 years ago, once there all my hand controls stopped working. After a little dry spell all was good except blinkers !!!! it took another week of drying out before they went back to normal. The casings arent sealed so water will get in.......Dont panic..

Thanks guys, i will pull the controls apart this arvo and get the heat gun out and hopefully dry them out. Since posting i have washed of the road grime and let it dry on it's own. I did try my brake light but it did not work either.
Oh well??????? Just something else i guess.
I think once i get thing back to sort of normal i will seal it all with sik o flex and hope and pray that it works till i get the WP and install it.

Does anyone else in the world have a set up on their flashers where a seperate flasher unit is used with seperate wiring to the flashers and or the hand controls.
Both mine and Dead Dog's do.
WTF is with that, we are wondering if the importer has done something.
