Hi Cesar.... Last week I contacted Big Dog and they provided the paint code / recipe for my K9. You will need to provide the following:
1) Your bike's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
2) Multiple pictures of your bike
3) Send you request to: bob@bigdogisback.com
I received a response the day after I sent the request.

I hope this helps... Mark

Thanks for the info , I sent a email to Bob.

I fail to see any where that the metal needed replacing though as they told you needed to be done Cesar.
Looks to me like it just needed cleaning and relining.

Thanks! Does anyone think that I should give it some additional treatment to protect it?

I would coat it with a tank liner, yes. Considering how far you went, you know it will stick good. Also, it would seal any potential leaks from the weld job if there's a pinhole one.
