Looking for info on what cam to go with for 06 chopper?

Thinking about changing the cam, any information would be appreciated.

Probably should do a search. Opinions will be all over the board on this one. It also depends on what other motor mods your willing to do. On my 09' stock 117 I'm putting the S&S 600 in this week. Some here like the S&S 585 for better all around performance. Then there's other manufactures like Woods and Dave Mackie to look at. Good luck.

I have read every thread on here for the same reason, what seems to be some what of a general consences is with a stock motor go with a 585 cam, if you have bumped the compression go to a 600 cam, but having said that there are a lot of people who have gone to the 600 with a stock motor and like it.

We have an 06 Chopper. Over the winter we replaced the TP rocker boxes with the S&S boxes, did a valve job and put in new rings. We are planning on the 600 cam in the near future when funds allow. We were told that to put the 600 cam in we would have to cut the cylinders, so while we had it torn down we had them cut. I got all my information from the guys at S&S.
