Anyone know where I can get a thunderheart programmable ignition for my 2007 BD Chopper? I burned up the one I had when my EHC went out on me.
Thanks a lot

Do you think they will just sell me the module? I already have coils, wires, booklets, just need the module.

Really....please..explain....I've had the mindset of simplifying my engine. (Kick-start anyone?)

Tell me about buying and installing the thunderheart and what you gain....
And how what to do to have a failsafe when it leaves you on the side of the road.

I dont like computers. I'm open to performance enhancements. Especially if I have to hide my boner.

My 2 cents is for less money, the 585 cam will give you more bang for the buck, I put the TH in mine but didn't feel a difference, Many will say different, I would really like to dyno to see any advantage. But the 585 cam, DAMN, you will have to hide your:boing:for sure:oldlaugh:

I'll throw my 2 cents in too, no offence. That other 03 chopper I use to have in my shop, had the Thunderheart ignition reprogramed down in Nashville at a Big Dog dealer. You could hear the difference, when they pulled it out of the shop. When I built mine, I install a stock Thunderheart ignition. The bikes were the same, but I couldn't even begin to keep up with him.

I'd like to see you kick start a 117 and it not throw you like a fool

Let us know what you think of it after your install.
I had a thunderheart programmable ignition before the ehc took it out. Had it for about 4 years. Now I have the stock one back in until I get the remapping completed. Should have it by Monday. It really wakes up the triple x carb with the 585 cam. Snap the throttle and hold on tight!

The Thunderheart module is not a performance upgrade in and of itself.
It enables you to get the most out of upgrades that you do to the bike.
Drop in a 585 cam and it will bump your motor.
Drop in a 585 cam and the Thunderheart module and have a good Dyno shop tune your ride and it will really wake her up.

This is awesome....all on the same page. I love this kind of discussion. Not to hijack, but I did the mechanical upgrades an EMP won't touch....600 cam, compression, porting, valves, carb....John Sachs is every bit of a v-twin guru.

But another computer chip??

I'll even subscribe to dyno-tuning to optimize jets, and I really do get the throttle curve....

But for just a little smoother vs the odds of another weak link failing.

Is there a mechanical means of optimizing ignition that doesn't need a dang computer? Vacuum advance/retarding? Either that or insulated and dampened electronics. That Shit is just too sensetive to temperature and vibration for these rides, imho.
