Looking for a new headlight bucket any recommendations?

I put a wolf headlight on mine. At the time it was available and about 30 bucks cheaper, fit perfectly and I think a brighter light as well..

Yup same here. Found a new one on eBay (literally half the price if one at the BDM dealer) years ago after a bike shop dropped my bike and dented my original headlight.
I also put in one if WSW Led bulbs a few months later. It’s like night and day (pun intended). Even with the factory vulb it seemed brighter.
Direct fit and zero issues. I think looks better too.

I've gone thru 2 stock light buckets. The little (stupid) set screw always pull the threads when you tighten it up to keep the bezel from unscrewing I have used the strongest thread locker I can find and after a few hundred miles my bezel moves. I have marked the bezel and the housing and check after every ride. This pisses me off as I have lost two bezels and one inner bezel for alignment. So I went online and found Adjure, I purchased the Adjure with no tools to tare down and to go back together. It uses a nylon rod that is inserted into the housing between the bezel and locks the bezel in place. Simple and effective. I called and asked it it would work with my LED headlight. They said that I might have to shave a little off the adjure, but when I tried it to see just how much I would have to remove on the adjure, I found that it fit perfectly. Just waiting for the type 56 connectors to arrive and I will install it. Should be here by tomorrow. I will post photos.

When I lost the beauty ring on the first dog due to the damn set screw issue I solved the problem by using some clear silicone on the outside of the beauty ring at the top ( so you wouldn't see it) Held forever. quick hit with razor blade and fingernail and it was out of the way to remove rings.

I've since moved up to another bucket that uses a different method to hold the ring in.

You should be able to disconnect under the tank and pull the wires thru the bottom of the bucket then.
You really want to avoid any extra splices/connections in the headlight circuit.

I know but I don't want to pull the tank. I have the correct crimping tool and can make factory crimps. I will just cut the connectors off and reroute the wires and then crimp the connectors and install into the light connector. Then I'll be done. Hopefully no more worries about loosing bezels and having a dangling adjure smacking the front finder. When I installed my new EHC I tidy'ed up the wiring harness and tucked everything up and out of sight.

Another little trick....just run a tap and go the next size up on the set screw

Hay thanks for your reply but here is what I have witnessed over the past year or so.I did what you said on the first one. Then I changed the halogen adjure out for a LED that I found on Amazon. I had to modify the LED light to fit the stock housing. Then I finished up by mounting it into the housing and then I pulled the threads. So I grabbed a size larger tap and set screw. Thought all was fine. I put about 500 miles on it and everything was fine. sometime later I jumped on my bike and headed to Pops down close to Oklahoma City. Got there and started to gas up before I grabbed some drinks form Pop's when I noticed that my headlight was setting in the bucket but pointing up. It was only holding in by the wiring harness. I had lost the outer bezel and the inter bezel as well as the alignment bezel. Well I thought this is nice, I rode back to Tulsa with the LED light in my tee. Wasn't fun on the way back. I then ordered a new housing as mine was showing a little cancer on the chrome. But the same thing happened on the new housing. So My next thought was if I could not find a suitable replacement housing then I was going to drill a hole thru the bezel and pin it to the housing. Not the best thang to do but the most practicable solution for it not coming off again. I think I found a suitable replacement. Will post photos when I tare into this once again.. I have all the crimpers and when finished it will look like factory wiring.

Then I Installed the LED Light. I had to modify this light on the back. There is a ridge I'm assuming for a seal of some kind. I just took a end mill and removed the ridge. I should have taken a picture but forgot until I had it all installed. Didn't want to tare it all back down and start over... but here is the finished install I did drop a tad of soldier on the terminals per the instructions fro DOC on the connectors. I could not make the ceramic housings work as my connectors were way too big to fit the sockets. I used the original socket. All and all a easy install and I now have peace of mind knowing that my bezel will not be falling out...
