Needing a new front end. Saw a couple that I like on the American Suspension site. I dont really know what else is out there. Any links, reviews, or info is appreciated.

Thanks

Yes please shoot me a price with the dual disk set-up. I am not sure what rake or length my bike has currently. Ill work on that. Also how do I know what spacers are needed or is this trial and error.

Thanks

Lesson Learned.......
I went with Mean Street inverted forks, they took 6 weeks to ship them and then the pieces weren't properly fitted so I ended up asking for replacements which then took 7 more weeks. The ill fitting pieces were discovered after the bike was at the shop on a jack with the front end torn down, so it sat for 3 months (in all) and is just now being completed, hopefully tomorrow. The mechanic tells me there will be a "storage fee". I think this should be reimbursed by Mean Street since the initial pieces were the wrong size. I haven't asked them yet since I dont have the final bill, but I hope they can help. Can anyone give me a ballpark price on weekly or monthly storage rates?

I would suggest in the future to very carefully mock up the pieces and try to measure the spacers, and even fender mounts brackets if you are going to do this project. I had no prior experience so this was quite a surprise to drop $3k for a nice front end and have the damn pieces not fitting. The front end is beautiful, so I am hoping to get it home soon.

with that ultima it needs a 99 and down brake caliper. not sure whats on your AIH. it comes with the axle and spacers but might need to add or lengthen to your wheel which is pretty basic. fender will need spacers and longer bolts which you can get close at a decent hardware store. its a good looking cheap front end.

mines about 4 years old and surprisingly it only has some chrome peel under the bottom tree.

looks like a clean spot.

What kind of shop would charge you storage especially under those sercumstances.
Its not bad enough these shade tree grease monkeys are getting $65 an hour they want to charge you for taking up a corner in their shop ? Thats bull s**t.
Any and all mechanics deplicted in my last statement "sorry" Hey I work at a bike shop too !
All names have been changed . . . . All shops are innocent untill convicted in a court of law.

TimNY- For sure, one that won't be seeing anymore of my cash. He 'gave' me a break because all of it was beyond my control, and charged me $250 for the storage fees. The big problem is that the job was incomplete so I still have some more dollars to spend machining some fender brackets. The front end is nice and I like the look better than stock, I am just happy to have it back. I guess this is challenge of living in the sticks and not having a reliable shop nearby. Will let you know if MeanStreet is able to help, but hopefully this experience helps the next guy to avoid these pitfalls.

How long do you guys think is a fair wait on an estimate. My bike has been sitting in the shop for two weeks waiting on a sheet a paper that shouldn't take more than an hour or two...
