Hey all, Looking for these 2 items for my 07 K9.

1. Windshield,
Taller the better, I know BDM has 10.1/2 but would like it taller
if posible...didn't know if any other manufacturer made a 10.1/2 and
up...Clear 16" would be awesome...

2. 12" sissy bar,
I have a low boy w/pad and back plate...maybe willing to trade up...

Can't help you out on the "wanted" items but I'd be interested if you decided to sell your low boy sissy bar outright... :)

You might have to buy a bdm version and just get a new plastic cut for it. I know a few guys that have new hd windshields cut locally to their own specs of height.

I have two BDM windshields and hardware for both. One of them was 16" tall and I tried to cut it down and it cracked, so I had a friend make me another one shorter (14" tall) It was made out of lexan. Turned out OK. The BDM windshields are acrylic so the edges are clear. Lexan edges are dull looking. You can try it if you want. If you don't like it, just send back the hardware. I bought another windshield setup with the 10.5" shield. I liked it better. If you don't like the 14" windshield you could order the 16" from Nelson. The hardware is the same for the 10.5" 14" and 16" windshields. I think Nelson said just the windshield runs about $150.00. I was going to just buy the 10.5" windshield from Nelson, but I came across a good deal on the whole setup (hardware and 10.5" windshield) from a member of the board. Thats how I ended up with two complete windshields and hardware for both. If your interested send me a PM.

We bought a taller shield from BDM while at Street Vibes last year. It was difficult to see through, with all the distortion.
While still in Reno, went to the Windvest rep set up near Reno Harley. He swapped on a 10.5 and said to try it on the road. It was just right!
When I got back from the test ride, he offered to swap us straight across. That's excellent customer care if you ask me!:2thumbs:
With the 10.5 in the lower position, it's just right for me. The wife likes it better in the upper position.
After riding with it for a while, it seems there is more air blast coming from down around the triple clamps than over the upper lip....

Hey goofy, That's a great point about the vibration with the taller windshield....I think I'll try what you said with the 10.1/2....very good point...thanks much man.......

So does the shield really help on the highway???

Yeah Red, even the 10.5 makes a difference to us. The wife especially feels the change. The turbulence from below isn't too bad. Kinda blows my nostrils open sometimes...:lol:
Most of our long trip last year we just had a duffel on top of the headlight & bungied to the bars, but the last 500 miles back home from Reno was with the shield. It was a very noticable change.:2thumbs:
