Hey Joe,
Would be interested in knowing where you went . I am a New BD owner & want to have it re-tuned but can not find a Dyno Tuner here to get it re-tuned . Anyone know a place around close ?? So far the HD Dealers are no except Frederick but Dog is to long to fit. Cycle Connection in Laytonsville is going to try and order the extension for their dyno so will fit on (was about a foot short).

You guys raise some good points:
Fibersnake: The shop charging me for a brand new replacement inner primary when the problem could be fixed.
Ground Pounder spoke up first for the inner primary and has since received and fixed it. The following was his response to my question as to the 'fixability' of the inner primary [Joe he (the mechanic) probably was either trying to thread the hole again or tried to open the hole enough to put in a heli coil. He just plain screwed up. I didn't have a carbide drill to remove the tap but ground part of it out with a dremmel tool and got the rest out with a tap extractor. The hole was opened up too much to get the heli coil in so i drilled it deeper and put in a 1/4-20 heli coil. Now i have to repair the bigger part of the hole but should be able to make the inner primary work. I was a millwright and machine repairman for over 30 years so i have a little expirience in repairing things.] So at least it will be reused and not tossed. Interesting story. Today I was back at C&C to have a new PCB board installed. I told the owner (Roy) that I had found home for the primary. I said that the person who took it was a machinist and was able to repair it. I said I was really glad rather than have an almost perfect piece tossed in the garbage. His response: had I not asked for the part, he wouldn't have tossed it, he would have saved it to be worked on later (that made me feel real good, hearing him admit he could fix it but no now!)(but I'm the one that has to pay for his unwillingness to fix what he broke!!!). Said he too was a machinist so not impossible for him to fix. Just doesn't make sense but what can I do. As far as I know, he is the ONLY mechanic around with the knowledge and experience to fix Big Dogs. So I guess in one way, I can't blame him. Time is money. Guess he felt he couldn't charge what it would cost (laborwise) to fix the primary so let the owner pay!!
Finally: Waynewl1. C&C in Severn. I still think well of them. As far as I know, they are the only game in town. I am back on the road. All seems well and it only cost me almost $2K. $700 of that for that inner primary. And good luck with your BD. I still think they are the BEST looking bike out there. Nothing else even comes close. One of the things I've notice about this forum is that most of the time, drivers are writing in with their problems. I'm sure there is the other side and that would be those without problems and I've seen a few of them here as well which is what made me buy another. I just hope I have a keeper!!
Thanx

I see you are over in Bowie area, a shop that I have dealt with since the begining and where I bought my 05 is over in Winchester, VA, little ways I know, but for they have always doen right and are one of the oldest BD dealers and pretty much carried them from day one until closing. They still do allot of work on them, can get the parts and I have never had an issue.

The shop is Full House Cycles

Many other on here can say the same.

Also I live right below Hagerstown on the WV side, if you are ever over that way, give a shout out and we can share the road. Get in a bind, once I am back in the States (mid October), will gladly do what I can to assit or show you how to do it yoursefl for most fo the things if you bring it out that way.

Thank you Fiber (if I may be so bold as to call you by your first name!! :)
That is an opportunity I will gladly take you up on someday. From what I understand, West (by God) Virginia is a gorgeous state. Been through the upper part several times and loved what I saw. Funny thing you mention Full House Cycles. The very first time I saw my first Big Dog, it was a Ridgeback. The guy that had it lived on the other side of Frederick, MD and he bought it from FHC. Had everything good to say about them too! From my home it looks like a hundred miles or about 2 hours. Love to check that place out! Looks like you won't be long comin' home. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH!
